Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of three novel phosphorus-containing flame retardants and their application in epoxy resins

TL;DR: One symmetric diamine and two symmetric phenols (5 ) and (6 ) were synthesized as phosphorus-containing flame retardants as discussed by the authors, and they served as co-curing agents of diaminodiphenylmethane for epoxy resins, and epoxy thermosets exhibited excellent flame retardancy, moderate changes in glass transition temperature (T g ) and thermal stability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two novel phosphorus–nitrogen-containing halogen-free flame retardants of high performance for epoxy resin

TL;DR: In this article, two halogen-free flame retardants (DP-DDE and DP-DDS) were synthesized via a one-pot procedure based on the Pudovik reactions between 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide (DOPO) and imines directly resulting from the condensation reactions of 3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde with two typical curing agents, 4,4′-oxydianiline (DDE) and 4
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of thermal stabilizers composed of zinc barbiturate and calcium stearate for rigid poly(vinyl chloride)

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used ZnL 2 as a co-stabilizer with calcium stearate (CaSt 2 ) for rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) by the discoloration test and the dehydrochlorination test at 180°C.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel zinc-containing additive for the long-term thermal stabilization of poly(vinyl chloride)

TL;DR: In this article, a new thermal stabilizer, La-Gly (Gly = n -[2-hydroxy-1,1-bis(hydroxymethyl)ethyl]-glycin), was synthesized, which possesses high stabilizing efficiency for poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC): as the mass ratio of LaGly to PVC resin is increased from 0.3/50.0 to 2.0, the time to degradation of PVC samples increases from 90min to 190min.
