Antioxidant Properties of Du-zhong (Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.) Extracts and Their Effects on Color Stability and Lipid Oxidation of Raw Pork Patties
TL;DR: It is suggested that Du-zhong leaf extract may be a potential source of natural antioxidants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation and characterization of light-responsive TEMPO-oxidized konjac glucomannan microspheres.
Xiaodong Chen,Shanshan Wang,Meiling Lu,Yuying Chen,Luhai Zhao,Wei Li,Qipeng Yuan,Willem Norde,Willem Norde,Yuan Li +9 more
TL;DR: The unique properties of the OKGM microspheres made of TEMPO-oxidized Konjac glucomannan polymers make them potentially applicable as light-controlled biocompatible delivery systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
The intelligent delivery systems for bioactive compounds in foods: Physicochemical and physiological conditions, absorption mechanisms, obstacles and responsive strategies
Jingjing Chai,Jingjing Chai,Ping Jiang,Ping Jiang,Pengjie Wang,Yumeng Jiang,Yumeng Jiang,Dan Li,Weier Bao,Weier Bao,Bingxue Liu,Bingxue Liu,Bin Liu,Liyun Zhao,Willem Norde,Qipeng Yuan,Fazheng Ren,Yuan Li +17 more
TL;DR: This comprehensive multidisciplinary review provides useful guidelines for the application of bioactive compounds in the food industry, designed to improve the low solubility, poor stability and low permeability of the gastrointestinal tract and they have the potential to improve oral bioavailability.
Journal ArticleDOI
TEMPO-oxidized Konjac glucomannan as appliance for the preparation of hard capsules.
Yuying Chen,Huiying Zhao,Xianwu Liu,Zusen Li,Bin Liu,Jiande Wu,Mengxuan Shi,Willem Norde,Yuan Li,Yuan Li +9 more
TL;DR: In vitro drug dissolution profile of OKGM capsules showed that the shell rupture time of DO80% capsule is about 5-10 min, and 80% of the drugs were released within 30-45 min, soDO80% OKGM was qualified to be used for gastric soluble hard capsules.
Journal ArticleDOI
A study of controlled uptake and release of anthocyanins by oxidized starch microgels.
TL;DR: The results indicated that the oxidized starch microgels had a potential for being a carrier system for protecting anthocyanins from degradation in the upper gastric tract and for delivering them to the intestine.
