Journal ArticleDOI

Complete genome sequence of an M1 strain of Streptococcus pyogenes

TL;DR: The 1,852,442-bp sequence of an M1 strain of Streptococcus pyogenes, a Gram-positive pathogen, has been determined and contains 1,752 predicted protein-encoding genes, consistent with the observation that S. pyogene is responsible for a wider variety of human disease than any other bacterial species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome sequence of Streptococcus mutans UA159, a cariogenic dental pathogen

TL;DR: The genome analysis provides further insight into how S. mutans has adapted to surviving the oral environment through resource acquisition, defense against host factors, and use of gene products that maintain its niche against microbial competitors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative analysis of the genomes of the temperate bacteriophages phi 11, phi 12 and phi 13 of Staphylococcus aureus 8325.

TL;DR: The genomes of the three temperate bacteriophages contained in the chromosome of Staphylococcus aureus 8325 have been extracted from the sequence database and analyzed and Phage φ11 and φ12 have been found to contain sequences consistent with pac-site phages while φ13 has sequences consistentwith cos-sitephages.
