TL;DR: Finetti et al. as mentioned in this paper presented a model discovery approach for the first time at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in the Czech Republic, where the authors used the Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste S.C.A.
Journal ArticleDOI
Soft x-ray induced femtosecond solid-to-solid phase transition
Franz Tavella,Hauke Höppner,Victor Tkachenko,Nikita Medvedev,Flavio Capotondi,Torsten Golz,Yun Kai,Michele Manfredda,Emanuele Pedersoli,Mark J. Prandolini,Nikola Stojanovic,T. Tanikawa,Ulrich Teubner,Sven Toleikis,Beata Ziaja +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, soft x-rays were applied to induce graphitization of diamond through a non-thermal solid-to-solid phase transition, which was observed within poly-crystalline diamond with a time-resolved experiment using ultrashort soft xray pulses of duration 52.5 and cross correlated by an optical pulse of duration 32.8.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shock wave emission during the collapse of cavitation bubbles
TL;DR: In this article, the conditions of shock wave emission in glycerine and distilled water during the first bubble collapse were investigated experimentally and compared with the theoretical work of Poritsky (Proc 1st US Natl Congress Appl Mech 813−821, 1952) and Brennen (Cavitation and bubble dynamics, Oxford University Press 1995).
