Journal ArticleDOI
Regional citrate versus heparin anticoagulation for continuous renal replacement therapy: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
TL;DR: Citrate anticoagulation decreased the risk of bleeding with no significant increase in the incidence of metabolic alkalosis, and Hypocalcemia was more common in patients receiving citrate, although no clinical adverse event was reported in the included studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tetramethylpyrazine protects rat renal tubular cell apoptosis induced by gentamicin
Shu Hui Juan,Cheng Hsien Chen,Yung Ho Hsu,Chun Cheng Hou,Tso Hsiao Chen,Heng Lin,Yen Ling Chu,Yuh Mou Sue +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that TMP can attenuate gentamicin-induced oxidative stress and apoptotic injury in rat RTCs, and that its character may have therapeutic potential for patients with renal diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanism of the antihypertensive effect of stevioside in anesthetized dogs.
Ju Chi Liu,Pai Keng Kao,Paul Chan,Yung Ho Hsu,Chun-Cheng Hou,Gi Shih Lien,Min Hsiung Hsieh,Yi Jen Chen,Juei-Tang Cheng +8 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that stevioside is an effective antihypertensive natural product, and its hypotensive mechanism may be probably due to inhibition of the Ca2+ influx.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of reactive oxygen species-sensitive extracellular signal-regulated kinase pathway in angiotensin II-induced endothelin-1 gene expression in vascular endothelial cells.
Yung Ho Hsu,Jin Jer Chen,Nen Chung Chang,Nen Chung Chang,Cheng Hsien Chen,Ju Chi Liu,Tso Hsiao Chen,Cherng Jye Jeng,Hung Hsing Chao,Tzu-Hurng Cheng +9 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that ROS are involved in Ang II-induced ET-1 gene expression within endothelial cells, and the redox-sensitive ERK-mediated AP-1 transcriptional pathway plays an important role in angiotensin II- induced ET- 1 gene expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Loop diuretic strategies in patients with acute decompensated heart failure: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Mei Yi Wu,Nen Chung Chang,Chien-Ling Su,Yung Ho Hsu,Tzen-Wen Chen,Yuh Feng Lin,Chih Hsiung Wu,Ka Wai Tam +7 more
TL;DR: Meta-analysis of the existing limited studies did not confirm any significant differences in the safety and efficacy with continuous administration of loop diuretic, compared with bolus injection in patients with acute decompensated heart failure.
