Journal ArticleDOI
A simple model of throughput and pressure development for single screw
TL;DR: The model is based on viewing the entire screw simply as a pump, conveying a solid and a molten fraction, and shows that the screw geometry is the most important parameter, followed by polymer rheology and processing conditions, and the influence of the compression zone on throughput.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental and numerical study of entry flow of low-density polyethylene melts
TL;DR: In this article, the authors deal with experimental and numerical features of entry flows of two polyethylene melts, namely a linear low-density polyethylenes (LLDPE) and a low density polyethyleni (LDPE), in an axisymmetric converging geometry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Numerical simulation of complex flows of non‐Newtonian fluids using the stream tube method and memory integral constitutive equations
TL;DR: In this article, a memory integral viscoelastic equation is considered for simulating complex flows of non-Newtonian fluids by stream tube analysis, and a formalism is developed to take into account co-deformational memory equations in a mapped computational domain where the transformed streamlines are parallel and straight.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of mold surface coatings in injection molding. application to the ejection stage.
TL;DR: In this paper, a cube-shaped insert in an instrumented mold (with force sensors) on three polymers which differ in nature: an amorphous polymer (polycarbonate), a semi-crystalline one (polybutylene terephatalate) and a blend of copolymers (styrene acrylonitrile/ acrylanitrile butadiene styrene).
Journal ArticleDOI
Shaping Air Flow Characteristics of a High-Speed Rotary-Bell Sprayer for Automotive Painting Processes
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study was conducted on the influence of some ERBS operating parameters on the development and characteristics of shaping airflow, which showed that, for low swirl numbers, the flow behavior is close to that of annular swirling jets and also provided valuable leads to design shaping air flow in modern ERBS.
