Antihyperglycemic and antidyslipidemic activity of aqueous extract of Dioscorea bulbifera tubers.

TL;DR: The aqueous extract of Dioscorea bulbifera tubers (DBEA003) is evaluated for its antihyperglycemic activity in glucose primed and streptozotocin treated Wistar rats and antidyslipidemic potential in high fat diet fed C57BL/6J mice, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Four new carbazole alkaloids from Murraya koenigii that display anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial activities

TL;DR: The new compound murrayakonine A (), O-methylmurrayamine A () and mukolidine () were proven to be the most active, efficiently inhibiting TNF-α and IL-6 release in a dose-dependent manner and showing decreased LPS induced TNF/IL-6 production in human PBMCs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Par-4 dependent modulation of cellular β-catenin by medicinal plant natural product derivative 3-azido Withaferin A.

TL;DR: In vivo results and in vitro studies demonstrate that 3‐AWA was effective inhibitor of tumor growth and immunohistochemical studies indicated that increased expression of total β‐catenin and decreased expression of phospho‐β‐catanin and Par‐4 in breast cancer tissues as compared to normal breast tissue suggesting Par‐ 4 and β‐ catenin proteins are mutually regulated and inversely co‐related in normal as well as cancer condition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of environmental pollutants in Alzheimer’s disease: a review

TL;DR: A compilation of available data is offered to support the long-suspected correlation between environmental risk factors and AD pathology and aims to culminate in the prospective correlation between the various environmental factors andAD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design and synthesis of novel N,N′-glycoside derivatives of 3,3′-diindolylmethanes as potential antiproliferative agents

TL;DR: Compound 7d, an N-glycosylated DIM derivative, was found to be effective against cancer cell lines A549, HeLa and MCF-7 and could induce apoptosis by upregulating a pro-apoptotic protein Par-4 and concomitantly diminishing the expression of pro-survival proteins Bcl-2 and GRP78.
