Mineral Status of Soils and Forages in Southwestern Punjab-Pakistan: Micro-minerals

TL;DR: Although forage mico-minerals were within the range required by the ruminants, they were not sufficiently high to prevent the predisposition to various diseases caused by nutrient deficiency, so grazing animals at this location need continued mineral supplementation of these elements with a mixtures of high bio-availability rather than of high micro-mineral contents to support optimum ruminant productivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of diverse doses of Lead (Pb) on different growth attributes of Zea-Mays L.

TL;DR: The aim of the investigation was to determine the potential effect of lead on maize growth, and found that growth retardation was due to metals toxicity that resulted in damages to various physiological and biochemical processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of Potential Toxic Metals Accumulation in Wheat Irrigated with Wastewater

TL;DR: W Wastewater irrigated soil, wheat and water had high metal values, but the low rate of transfer was noticed from soil to grains, which might be due to high soil pH, which hinders the efficient transfer of metals between different mediums.
Journal ArticleDOI

Potential Toxic Metal Accumulation in Soil, Forage and Blood Plasma of Buffaloes Sampled from Jhang, Pakistan

TL;DR: There was no potential exposure of toxicity in buffaloes of the study area and the mean concentration values of Co, Zn, Fe, Cd, Se and As were lower while Cu and Cr were higher than the recommended concentrations.
