Journal ArticleDOI

Workability and mechanical properties of microwave heating for recovering high quality aggregate from concrete

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the heating process of aggregate-mortar interfaces under microwave irradiation and provided a contribution and reference for the further application of microwave-assisted aggregates recycling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental study on thermal and mechanical behavior of mortar-aggregate under microwave irradiation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the heating outcomes of mortar-aggregate under microwave irradiation and showed that microwave irradiated aggregates could weaken the bonding between mortar and aggregate effectively, which provided a contribution and reference for the further application of microwave-assisted aggregates recycling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Properties of concrete incorporating microwave treated coarse aggregate: An experimental study

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the performance of coarse aggregate after microwave treatment and to evaluate the properties of the resulting concrete incorporated microwave treatment aggregate, and the results indicated that using low microwave power levels to assisted aggregates recycling can reduce the damage to coarse aggregates to some extent.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Fully Coupled Electromagnetic Irradiation, Heat and Mass Transfer Model of Microwave Heating on Concrete

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-field model is established to simulate the microwave heating process of concrete specimen with single-particle aggregate by using of COMSOL multiphysics, which is verified by comparison with temperature from experiment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermally Assisted Liberation of Concrete and Aggregate Recycling: Comparison between Microwave and Conventional Heating

TL;DR: In this article, a series of experiement is presented for microwave-assisted concrete liberation and aggregate recycling is highlighted by many research groups due to its efficient and effective recycling process.
