Effect of temperature on space charge trapping and conduction in cross-linked polyethylene

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the measurement results of space charge distribution and high field conduction in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) plate sample at various electric fields for a broad temperature range from 30 to 90 °C.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of nano and micro particles on partial discharge and breakdown strength in epoxy composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of nano-Al2O3 fillers on the breakdown strength of gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) and found that the nano-fillers can improve the PD resistance of composites.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of aluminum nanoparticle surface treatment on the electrical properties of polyethylene composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of surface treatment of Al nanoparticles on the electrical properties of linear low density polyethylene composites was investigated, and it was found that the incorporation of nonpolar octyl groups onto the surface of nanoparticles not only increased the percolation threshold and the resistivity but also improved the dielectric properties as compared to the composites filled with unsurface-treated nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Insulating property of polypropylene nanocomposites filled with nano-MgO of different concentration

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of nano-filler addition on polypropylene (PP) insulating properties were investigated in five kinds of experiments, namely TEM, DSC, breakdown strengths (BDs), space charge and dielectric measurement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polyethylene/aluminum nanocomposites: Improvement of dielectric strength by nanoparticle surface modification

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of surface modification with a silane coupling agent (octyl-trimethoxysilane) of aluminum (Al) nanoparticles on the dielectric breakdown behaviors of polyethylene (PE)/Al nanocomposites was investigated in comparison of the influence of the improvement of the interfacial adhesion between Al nanoparticles and PE using a compatibilizer (maleic anhydride grafted polyethylenes).
