Journal ArticleDOI

Bi-bicyclic and bi-tricyclic compounds from Dendrobium thyrsiflorum.

TL;DR: Compounds 1-3 and denthyrsinin (1,5,7-trimethoxyphenanthrene-2,6-diol; 4) showed significant cytotoxic activities against Hela (13.5, 9.5 and 4.8 microM, respectively) cell lines.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tribulusamide A and B, new hepatoprotective lignanamides from the fruits of Tribulus terrestris: indications of cytoprotective activity in murine hepatocyte culture

TL;DR: Addition of compounds 1-5, especially 1 and 2, to primary cultured mouse hepatocytes significantly prevented cell death induced by D-galactosamine (D-GalN)/tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha).

Isoquinoline Alkaloids from Lindera aggregata

TL;DR: A nets aporphinoid alkaloid, trivially named linderaline (1), along with eight known isoquinoline alkaloids as (-)-pallidine (2), protosinomenine (3), laudanosoline 3',4'-dimethyl ether (4), boldine (5), norisoboldine (6), laurolitsine (7), pronuciferine (8), and reticulline (9) were isolated from ethanol extract of the dried root of Lindera aggregata (Sims) K
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxic sesquiterpenes from Ligularia platyglossa

TL;DR: Flow cytometric analysis indicated that compound 3 induces Hela cells to apoptotic death after 48 h treatment with 0.38 mM of this compound, whereas compound 3 exhibited only weak cytotoxic activity against the B16, BEL7402 and Hela cancer cells.
