A Criterion for Non-Darcy Flow in Porous Media

TL;DR: In this article, the critical Forchheimer number for non-Darcy flow is defined as the ratio of pressure drop caused by liquid-solid interactions to that by viscous resistance.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Experimental Observation of Injection Rate Influence on the Hydraulic Fracturing Behavior of a Tight Gas Sandstone

TL;DR: In this paper, a linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) based breakdown pressure model was derived which gives satisfactory predictions using Griffith's energy balance concept, and the model was used to predict the observed breakdown pressure.
