Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrothermal carbonization of food waste after oil extraction pre-treatment: Study on hydrochar fuel characteristics, combustion behavior, and removal behavior of sodium and potassium.

TL;DR: The results show that the HTC is a promising alternative for conventional technologies for treatment and energy conversion of OEFW and shows high removal rates of sodium and potassium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of catalytic subcritical water gasification of food waste for hydrogen production: Effect of process conditions and different types of catalyst loading

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of reaction temperature (300-360°C), residence time (30-90min), food waste concentration (10-30wt%) and catalysts (Ni/γ-Al2O3, Ni/ZrO2, NaOH, KOH, and FeCl3) on hydrogen production from subcritical water gasification of food waste with and without catalyst loading was systematically investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biochar and pyrolytic gas properties from pyrolysis of simulated municipal solid waste (SMSW) under pyrolytic gas atmosphere

TL;DR: In this article, municipal solid waste (MSW) was converted into high-grade solid fuels (biochar) and gaseous product via thermal pyrolysis under pyropolytic gas atmosphere.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on the effect of operating parameters towards CO2 absorption behavior of choline chloride – Monoethanolamine deep eutectic solvent and its aqueous solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of absorption pressure and temperature towards the CO2 absorption capacity and rate of choline chloride - monoethanol amine deep eutectic solvent (ChCl-MEA DES) was evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental investigation on gasification of food waste in supercritical water: Effects of NaCl on syngas production and corrosion of reactor

TL;DR: In this article, the role of NaCl salt in supercritical water gasification of food waste was investigated and the results showed that 3 wt% NaCl is the most common food additive and therefore inevitably accumulated in food waste.
