Acupuncture for Parkinson's Disease: Efficacy Evaluation and Mechanisms in the Dopaminergic Neural Circuit.
Yadan Zhao,Zichen Zhang,Siru Qin,Wen Fan,Wei Li,Jingyi Liu,Songtao Wang,Zhifang Xu,Meidan Zhao +8 more
TL;DR: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive neurodegenerative disease caused by degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra as discussed by the authors, which can be treated with acupuncture.
Arousal effect and potential mechanism of dopamine-mediated acupuncture on traumatic brain injury
Yadan Zhao,Yuxin Fang,Zichen Zhang,Jingyi Liu,Siru Qin,Wei Li,Songtao Wang,Yi Guo,Zhifang Xu,Luis Ulloa +9 more
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of acupuncture on neuroplasticity after ischemic stroke: a literature review and perspectives
Siru Qin,Zichen Zhang,Yadan Zhao,Jingyi Liu,Jiwen Qiu,Yinan Gong,Wen Fan,Yongming Guo,Yi Guo,Zhifang Xu,Yang-Ming Guo +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors have shown that acupuncture can stimulate neurogenesis, activate axonal regeneration and sprouting, and improve the structure and function of synapses after ischemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
The neuroprotective and neural circuit mechanisms of acupoint stimulation for cognitive impairment
Zichen Zhang,Liuyi Chen,Yi Guo,Dan Li,Jingyu Zhang,Ling Liu,Wen Fan,Tao Guo,Siru Qin,Yadan Zhao,Zhifang Xu,Ze-Lin Chen +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors comprehensively reviewed the basic research from the last 20 years and found that acupoint stimulation can effectively improve the spatial learning and memory of animals, and suggested that it may protect neurons by promoting correct protein folding and regulating the degradation of toxic proteins via the autophagy-lysosomal pathway.
