A simple rain collector preventing water re-evaporation dedicated for δ18O and δ2H analysis of cumulative precipitation samples

TL;DR: In this article, a simple rainwater collector has been developed that allows virtually evaporation-free rain sampling for subsequent water stable isotope analysis, which is designed for collecting composite monthly samples as required for global monitoring networks of the isotopic composition in precipitation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiple ionization of atoms and molecules in collisions with fast ions : ion-atom collisions

TL;DR: Vidensk and Selsk as mentioned in this paper developed a theoretical description of multiple ionization of atoms and molecules produced by an energetic ion impact, based on the statistical energy-deposition model of Russek and Meli.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiple ionization of atoms and molecules in collisions with fast ions. II. Ion-molecule collisions

TL;DR: In this paper, an extended version of the statistical energy-deposition model is used for a description of multiple ionization of molecules by energetic ion impact, where the energy transferred to the molecule during the collision is calculated as a function of the impact parameter within the local-electron-density approximation for a fixed molecular orientation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lyman- alpha emission in collisions of H+ ions with Na(3s) and laser-excited Na(3p) atoms.

TL;DR: An experimental study of Lyman-..cap alpha.. emission from H(2p) capture processes in collisions between H/sup +/ ions and Na(3s) as well as laser-excited aligned Na( 3p) atoms observes a strong enhancement of capture from Na (3p) over capture fromNa (3s), in agreement with recent calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron capture in Ar+-ion collisions with laser-aligned Rydberg atoms.

TL;DR: A study of charge transfer from laser-aligned Rydberg atoms in collisions with Ar[sup +] ions in the velocity-matching regime with results compared with classical-trajectory Monte Carlo calculations.
