20 Nov 2009TL;DR: This work is introducing a self-stabilizing leader election algorithm to solve the problem of HLR/HSS that a high fraction of the lookups are solved within only one hop, and it is proved that leader can be elected even the network is churning.
Abstract: OneHop[1] was the first DHT protocol providing the feature which enables DHT to be applied in HLR/HSS that a high fraction of the lookups are solved within only one hop. In this protocol the event in overlay(node joins and leaves)will be disseminated in a hierarchical fashion from slice leader to unit leader and unit leader to normal node. There is little concern about the situation that the leader leaves unexpectedly. Our contribution is introducing a self-stabilizing leader election algorithm to solve the problem, and we will analyze its feature self-stabilization in detail, and prove that leader can be elected even the network is churning(nodes leave and packet lost). The election algorithm is highly efficient with low cost, the time complexity is O(n), communication complexity is O(1). All the conclusions are verified by a simulation based on Planetsim[13]

TL;DR: The basic principle and optimization methods for GPP realization, especially for the application of multicore technique are presented and proved to be convincible by solid justifications shown in the paper.
Abstract: This paper presents an analysis for implementation of high-throughput wireless communication signal processing system on general purpose processor (GPP). The large amount of complex computation brings challenge for the conventional platforms. GPP was compared with DSP and FPGA, and regarded as a new direction for signal processing system development. The program optimization on GPP platforms is necessary based on our research and developing experience. Therefore, we come up with the basic principle and optimization methods for GPP realization, especially for the application of multicore technique. Our analysis is proved to be convincible by solid justifications shown in the paper.

01 Dec 2015TL;DR: A novel method of dynamic gesture recognition based on support vector machine (SVM) and SDR is proposed and the computer simulation results show that it is a feasible method for dynamic gestures recognition.
Abstract: Software defined radio (SDR) plays an important role in military and commerce because of its inherent flexibility. It also has great potential in home use, and it can be controlled by software installed on a personal computer or embedded system to achieve different purposes. In this paper, a novel method of dynamic gesture recognition based on support vector machine (SVM) and SDR is proposed. It is also an unconventional application of Wi-Fi signal processing. Different gestures performed between the transmitter and receiver affect the signal differently, so the received signal contains lots of information about the gestures. We use smooth pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution (SPWVD) to extract the feature vector of the signal and apply SVM to realize gesture recognition. The computer simulation results show that it is a feasible method for dynamic gesture recognition.

TL;DR: The state-of-the-art methods of objective visual quality assessment in multimedia communication as well as the standardization activities in the ITU are reviewed.
Abstract: In this paper, the state-of-the-art methods of objective visual quality assessment in multimedia communication as well as the standardization activities in the ITU are reviewed. Firstly, the categories of objective evaluation models are studied. Then, the development status of various models is reviewed in terms of network planning and monitoring applications. Finally, the future work of objective evaluation models for network monitoring are concluded.
