TL;DR: The suitability of studied minerals for fission track geochronology is discussed in this article, where the authors show that the properties of the studied minerals can be used for the extraction of fission tracks.
Abstract: Uranium concentration in feldspar, pyroxene and carbonate groups of minerals has been studied by using the induced fission track technique. Fractions of homogeneously and heterogeneously distributed uranium have been estimated by differential counting. The suitability of studied minerals for fission track geochronology is discussed.

TL;DR: Les ganglions cérébraux contiennent un facteur hypoglycémique très actif and des facteurs qui sont responsables du catabolisme des protéines.
Abstract: Controle neuroendocrinien du metabolisme d'unAriophanta Sp., mollusque pulmone.

TL;DR: The histological changes in the beta cells were interpreted to be resulting from an increased demand for insulin to metabolize the excess glucose, thereby indicating the role of these cells in the blood glucose homeostasis in this fish.
Abstract: Glucose was administered to a fresh water teleost, Channa punctatus. Three groups of 40 fish each were injected intramuscularly with 1/2, 1 and 2 g/kg body weight glucose. Blood glucose level of the experimental fish was assayed according to Nelson (1944) at predetermined intervals, ranging from 0 to 120 hr post-injection. The principal islets were removed at autopsy and fixed for histological examination. A group of 20 fish injected with plain distilled water served as controls.A dose dependent hyperglycemic response was obtained after the glucose loading in Channa punctatus. The peak values were recorded within one hr of the injection. The beta cells in the principal islets were degranulated as a consequence of the glucose injection. The degenerative changes in the beta cells, which included loss of specific granules, pycnosis of nuclei and vacuolization, occurred in synchrony with the fluctuations in the glycemic level. The histological changes in the beta cells were interpreted to be resulting from an increased demand for insulin to metabolize the excess glucose, thereby indicating the role of these cells in the blood glucose homeostasis in this fish.

TL;DR: In this paper, three peculiar features associated with thermally stimulated current (TSC) curves for different cooling schedules in a (ZnO-MgO):Fe, O photoconductor have been observed.
Abstract: Three peculiar features associated with thermally stimulated current (TSC) curves for different cooling schedules in a (ZnO-MgO):Fe, O photoconductor have been observed. The first and most important is the development of exceptionally high currents, up to 5 μA,atTr = 40°C. Such currents are uncommon in such large band-gap photoconductors, suggesting that the system is thus an efficient photoconducting material. Secondly, results on negative TSC followed by a positive one (a study in support of the earlier work manifesting the existence of negative TSC [4]) are reported. The third feature is the oscillatory behaviour of the current at higher temperatures. An attempt has been made to give a plausible explanation of these phenomena.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied displacement due to an impulsive torsional body force within a Semi-infinite isotropic elastic solid body in the presence of viscous damping as well as solid damping.
Abstract: The aim of the present paper is to study displacement due to an impulsive torsional body force, within a Semi-infinite isotropic elastic solid body in the presence of viscous damping as well as solid damping. Certain numerical results of the displacement of the stress-free solid have also been given in graphical form.
