Abstract: An artificial key for identification of 10 species ofSpermacoce, their diagnostic features and other relevant informations are provided, along with their updated nomenclature.Spermacoce assurgens Ruiz and Pavon is recorded for the first time from the Indian mainland and a new combination,Spermacoce malabarica (Sivar. and Mani.) Sivar.et al is proposed.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of compressibility, finite Larmor radius (FLR) and Hall currents on the thermal instability of a plasma in the presence of a uniform horizontal magnetic field were considered.
Abstract: The effects of compressibility, finite Larmor radius (FLR) and Hall currents are considered on the thermal instability of a plasma in the presence of a uniform horizontal magnetic field. For stationary convection, the compressibility has a stabilizing effect whereas FLR and Hall currents have stabilizing as well as destabilizing effects. For (C pβ/g)<1, the system is stable. The magnetic field, FLR and Hall currents introduce oscillatory modes in the system for (C pβ/g)>1.

TL;DR: In this article, a strong evidence for the occurrence of palmitic acid in highly fibrous form, when crystallized in presence of linear chain hydrocarbon, is obtained by crystallizing the acid from n-hexane solutions.
Abstract: A strong evidence for the occurrence of palmitic acid in highly fibrous form, when crystallized in presence of linear chain hydrocarbon, is obtained by crystallizing palmitic acid from n-hexane solutions, by the evaporation of solvent at high rate of evaporation.

TL;DR: It has been concluded that evolution in these species has been towards diminution in size and increase in unmber of the chromosomes.
Abstract: Detailed karyotype of Lindernia crustacea and Lindernia multiflora have been studied for the first time. It has been found that the L. crustacea has a more asymmetrical karyotype than L. multiflora. It has been concluded that evolution in these species has been towards diminution in size and increase in unmber of the chromosomes.

TL;DR: One interesting phenomenon was observed that the frequency of multivalents were very low whereas the sterility of pollen grains was very high, and anomalies like clumping of chromosome at various stages, precocious separation of chromosomes, formation of univalents and unequal distribution of chromosomes at anaphase I and II were observed.
Abstract: Autotetraploid has been raised in Lindernia crustacea, a medicinal weed, by treating the seedlings with 0.2 percent of aqueous solution of colchicine for 20 hours. Morphological and cytological characters of colchiploid and diploid were studied in detail. Cytology of colchiploid was highly non-synchronized and one interesting phenomenon was observed that the frequency of multivalents were very low whereas the sterility of pollen grains was very high. Other anomalies like clumping of chromosome at various stages, precocious separation of chromosomes, formation of univalents and unequal distribution of chromosomes at anaphase I and II were also observed and discussed. Pollen grains were variable in size.

TL;DR: Detailed cytomorphological study has been made in Mecardonia procumbens, a common Scrophulariaceous weed, collected from three different populations growing in three different localities.
Abstract: Detailed cytomorphological study has been made in Mecardonia procumbens, a common Scrophulariaceous weed, collected from three different populations (Mp0877, Mp0777 and Mp0387) growing in three different localities. B chromosome was seen in mitotic and meiotic cells of plants of Mp0877 population. In M. procumbens B chromosome is reported for the first time.

TL;DR: In this article, an investigation is made of stimulated Brillouin scattering of an electromagnetic wave propagating obliquely with the external magnetic field in n-InSb as the pump wave propagates in the semiconductor, the electrons acquire oscillatory drift velocity and the magnetic field of the pump interact with low frequency acoustic perturbation to produce high frequency side band.
Abstract: An investigation is made of stimulated Brillouin scattering of an electromagnetic wave propagating obliquely with the external magnetic field in n-InSb As the pump wave propagates in the semiconductor, the electrons acquire oscillatory drift velocity The oscillatory drift velocity and the magnetic field of the pump interact with low frequency acoustic perturbation to produce high frequency side band which further interact with the pump to produce low frequency ponderomotive force responsible for driving the original density perturbation The nonlinear dispersion relation is obtained for the coupled mode The results show that the growth rate for SBS increases with the obliquity of the pump The growth rate is found to decrease with the angle of scattering In the weak magnetic field regime (0 ⪅ ωc/ωa ⪅ 07) the growth rate decreases with the magnetic field whereas in the strong magnetic field regime (07 ⪅ ωc/ωa ⪅ 09) the growth rate increases with the magnetic field Es wird die stimulierte Brillouin-Streuung einer elektromagnetischen Welle untersucht, die sich schrag zum auseren Magnetfeld in n-InSb ausbreitet Wenn sich die Pumpwelle im Halbleiter ausbreitet, nehmen die Elektronen eine oszillatorische Driftgeschwindigkeit an Die oszillatorische Driftgeschwindigkeit und das magnetische Pumpfeld wechselwirken mit der niederfrequenten akustischen Storung und rufen hochfrequente Seitenbander hervor, die dann weiter mit dem Pumpfeld wechselwirken und eine niederfrequente ponderomotorische Kraft hervorbringen, die fur den Antrieb der ursprunglichen Dichtestorung verantwortlich ist Es wird eine nichtlineare Dispersionsbeziehung fur die gekoppelte Mode erhalten Die Ergebnisse zeigen, das die Wachstumsrate fur SBS mit der Schragheit der Pumpwelle wachst, und es wird gefunden, das die Wachstumsrate mit dem Streuwinkel abnimmt Im Bereich des schwachen Magnetfelds (0 ⪅ ωc/ωa ⪅ 0,7) nimmt die Wachstumsrate mit dem Magnetfeld ab, wahrend im Bereich des starken Magnetfelds (0,7 ⪅ ωc/ωa 0,9) die Wachstumsrate mit dem Magnetfeld zunimmt

TL;DR: In this article, a structural analysis of effective medium formed by dispersed systems from the viewpoint of flux modification at large dispersions is presented, where the effective medium coefficient is investigated for its parametric dependence and the effective properties are estimated through this dependence.
Abstract: A structural analysis of effective medium formed by dispersed systems from the viewpoint of flux modification at large dispersions is presented. The effective medium coefficient is investigated for its parametric dependence and the effective properties are estimated through this dependence. This estimation covers all highly dispersed two-phase systems including the effect of container.
