TL;DR: An alternate technique based on fuzzy goal programming approach for solving multi-level multi objective linear programming problem (ML-MOLPP) is proposed which is simpler and requires less computational works than that of proposed algorithm.
Abstract: In this paper, we propose an alternate technique based on fuzzy goal programming approach for solving multi-level multi objective linear programming problem (ML-MOLPP) which is simpler and requires less computational works than that of proposed algorithm by Baky, I. A. (Applied Mathematical Modelling, 34(2010), 2377–2387). In formulation of FGP model each objective functions at each level are transformed into fuzzy goals. Suitable membership function for every fuzzily described transformed objective functions at each level as well as the control vectors of each level decision makers are defined by determining individual optimal solution of each objective function at each of the decision making level. Then FGP approach is used for achieving highest degree of each of these membership goals by minimizing the sum of negative deviational variables. To avoid decision deadlock, solution preferences by the decision makers at each level are not taken into account of proposed FGP technique. The aim of this paper is to present simple technique to obtain compromise optimal solution of ML-MOLP problems. A comparative analysis based on numerical examples is also carried out to show similarity between two solution methodologies.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the transmission of the two-dimensional photonic crystal (PC) superellipse ring resonator and found that the sensitivity for the proposed structure is 65.3 pm/°C.
Abstract: In the present paper, we study the transmission of the two-dimensional photonic crystal (PC) superellipse ring resonator. The fast growing applications of optomechanical systems lead to strong demands in new sensing mechanism in order to design the sensing elements to nanometer scale. The photonic crystal based resonator has been investigated as promising solutions because the band gap structure and resonator characteristics are extremely sensitive to the deformation and position shift of rod / cavity in PC resonators. This structure opens a single channel filter. The study is extended for tuning of channel filter’s wavelength with a temperature of this structure. The transmission of the channel filter shows a red shift with temperature linearly. This wavelength shift of the channel filter is used for the sensor application. The sensitivity for the proposed structure is found to be 65.3 pm/°C. The outstanding sensing capability renders PC resonators as a promising optomechanical sensing element to be integrated into various transducers for temperature sensing applications.

TL;DR: In this article, a multi objective combined economic emission dispatch (MOCEED) problem is applied to newly proposed non dominated sorting genetic algorithm-III (NSGA-III) method to handle problems with non-linear characteristics as well as having many objectives.
Abstract: The main ambition of utility is to provide continuous reliable supply to customers, satisfying power balance, transmission loss while generators are allowed to be operated within rated limits. Meanwhile, achieving this from fossil fuel fired power plant emission value and fuel cost should be as less as possible. An allowable deviation in fuel cost and feasible tolerance in fuel cost has been additively called as multi objective combined economic emission dispatch (MOCEED) problem. MOCEED problem is applied to newly proposed non dominated sorting genetic algorithm-III (NSGA-III). NSGA-III method is really powerful to handle problems with non-linear characteristics as well as having many objectives. The proposed NSGA-III is firstly applied to unconstraint/constraints multi-objective test functions then applied to solve MOCEED problem with 6-generation unit, IEEE 118 bus 14 generating unit system with a smooth quadratic fuel/emission objective functions and 10-unit with non-smooth/valve point loading...
