TL;DR: In this paper, a vehicle navigation system that is capable of learning user habits/preferences, mistakes in a digital map database, and new roads that may have been added or constructed after release of the map database is disclosed is described.
Abstract: A vehicle navigation system that is capable of learning user habits/preferences, mistakes in a digital map database, and new roads that may have been added or constructed after release of the digital map database is disclosed. The vehicle navigation system monitors a driver's habits and updates a database to thereby cause the vehicle navigation system to have a preference for the driver's habits. The vehicle navigation system may also monitor the geographic position of the vehicle and allow the driver to update or change data contained in the digital map database if an error exists. The vehicle navigation system is also capable of learning new roads that exist that are not included in the road network map of the digital map database and is also capable of adding these new roads to the digital map database.

TL;DR: A proximity location system (PLS) as mentioned in this paper allows a user to interact with a user interface without touching or speaking into the interface, which may include or be in communication with the user interface which may be a touchscreen, for example.
Abstract: A proximity location system (PLS) can allow for a user to interact with a user interface without touching or speaking into the interface. The system may include or be in communication with the user interface, which may be a touchscreen, for example. The system may also include or be in communication with one or more sensors that can sense an object's size, shape, speed, and/or location with respect to the user interface. From these sensed object characteristics, the system can determine the sensed object's type, feature, and/or state; and from that determination, the system can direct the interface and/or a device in communication with the interface to take an action.

TL;DR: In this article, a system and method for wireless transmission of high-definition audio and video signals include providing lossless raw video data wirelessly to a soundbar from a headunit to eliminate the multitude of wires that traditionally connect to a television in a home theater.
Abstract: A system and method for wireless transmission of high-definition audio and video signals include providing lossless raw video data wirelessly to a soundbar from a headunit to eliminate the multitude of wires that traditionally connect to a television in a home theater. In one embodiment, a wireless transmitter in the headunit transmits a wireless HDMI signal as the lossless raw video data.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a system for providing access to a large amount of content using a traditional interface, including compressed digital music data and video data, where each mode is associated with a different attribute, each mode includes one or more playlists of tracks and each playlist of a particular mode is based on a different value for the attribute associated with the particular mode.
Abstract: A system provides access to a large amount of content using a traditional interface. The system has many applications, one of which is for providing access to audio/visual content. Examples of audio/visual content includes compressed digital music data and video data. In one embodiment, the system receives an indication of a first mode, accesses a first playlist(632) .In this embodiment, each mode is associated with a different attribute, each mode includes one or more playlists of tracks, and each playlist of a particular mode is based on a different value for the attribute associated with the particular mode. Examples of attributes include artist, album, genre, etc. Thus, there can be an artist mode (636),an album mode(634), a genre mode(638), etc. For example, each playlist in the artist mode(636) would be associated with the same artist.

TL;DR: In this article, a performance equipment manager is configured to be selectively subscribed to one or more of the changeable parameters so that when a predefined condition occurs, the audio-related device can automatically provide the current value of the parameter(s) to the manager.
Abstract: A system for communication among audio-related devices in an audio system includes a performance equipment manager that communicates with audio-related devices to monitor and control changeable parameters of a corresponding audio-related device. Each of the audio-related devices includes an audio node structure having components that are representative of the functionality of the respective audio-related device. Some of the components are representative of changeable parameters in the audio-related device. The performance equipment manager is configured to be selectively subscribed to one or more of the changeable parameters so that when a predefined condition occurs, the audio-related device is configured to automatically provide the current value of the changeable parameter(s) to the performance equipment manager.
