TL;DR: This paper presents a method for watermarking Handwritten Signature that achieves robustness by responding to three specific weaknesses: complexity of copy detection, vulnerability to mark removal after revelation for ownership verification, and mark integrity issues due to partial mark removal.
Abstract: A number of researchers have proposed using digital marks to provide ownership (watermarking) identification for the property. One way of data hiding is digital signature, copyright label or digital watermark that completely characterizes the person who applies it and, therefore, marks it as being his property. Digital Watermarking is the process that embeds data called a watermark into an object such that watermark can be detected and extracted later to make an assertion about the object. Watermarking is either "visible" or "invisible". Although visible and invisible are visual terms watermarking is not limited to images, it can also be used to protect other types of multimedia object. Our research work is on watermarking techniques in particular. Many of these proposed techniques share three specific weaknesses: complexity of copy detection, vulnerability to mark removal after revelation for ownership verification, and mark integrity issues due to partial mark removal. This paper presents a method for watermarking Handwritten Signature that achieves robustness by responding to these three weaknesses. The key techniques involve using secure functions to generate and embed image marks that is more detectable, verifiable, and secure than existing protection and detection techniques.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied broadcasting of entanglement using a state-dependent quantum cloning machine as a local copier and showed that the length of the interval for probability-amplitude-squared α2 for broadcasting of entangled pairs with statedependent cloners can be made larger than the length-of-interval for α2 with a state independent cloner.
Abstract: Suppose we are given an entangled pair and asked how well we can produce two entangled pairs starting from a given entangled pair using only local operations. To respond to this question, we study broadcasting of entanglement using a state-dependent quantum cloning machine as a local copier. We show that the length of the interval for probability-amplitude-squared α2 for broadcasting of entanglement using a state-dependent cloner can be made larger than the length of the interval for probability-amplitude-squared for broadcasting entanglement using a state-independent cloner. Further we show that there exists a local state-dependent cloner which gives better quality copy (in terms of average fidelity) of an entangled pair than the local universal cloner.

TL;DR: This paper proposes an approximately modified version of TCP Snoop, called on-board TCP (obTCP) for vehicular on- board IP networks, to shield the sender from non-congestion related losses without changing existing TCP implementation at the end hosts.
Abstract: Network Mobility (NeMo) arises when a mobile router connecting a network to the Internet dynamically changes its point of attachment. By taking advantage of this kind of network mobility, Internet services can be extended to users traveling in public transport vehicles having high speed LANs deployed on-board. On-board LANs connect to the Internet via mobile router. Here, two primary issues viz. mobility of the network as a hole and existence of multiple wireless links, give rise to several unique challenges for achieving a high end-to-end TCP throughput. In this paper we propose an approximately modified version of TCP Snoop, called on-board TCP (obTCP) for vehicular On-Board IP Networks. Its central concern is to shield the sender from non-congestion related losses without changing existing TCP implementation at the end hosts. We have evaluated the performance of obTCP in ns-2 simulator and compared with TCP Snoop.

TL;DR: In this paper, the phase velocities and decay coefficients of a plane magneto-thermo-viscoelastic wave were derived for both high and low frequency wave modes.
Abstract: The present work aims at investing the propagation of plane magneto-thermo-viscoelastic waves in a homogeneous viscoelastic medium, which is rotating with a uniform angular velocity. Both the coupled dynamical thermoelasticity theory and the generalized thermoelasticity theory are applied to obtain the analytical solution for the phase velocities and the decay coefficients of the plane wave. The numerical values of the phase velocities and the decay coefficients are also computed for a suitable material and the results are presented in graphs. The effects of rotation and the thermal relaxation parameters on phase velocities and decay coefficients are discussed in details for both high and low frequency wave modes.

Abstract: This paper deals with nonlinear vibration of homogeneous heated sandwich elliptic plates of uniform thickness made of orthotropic material under thermal loading. The governing partial differential equations are deduced by the method of constant deflection contour lines proposed by Mazumder and Jones. The time-dependent nonlinear differential equation has finally been solved. Graphs corresponding to the ratio of nonlinear to linear frequencies versus nondimensional amplitude are drawn for movable as well as for immovable edge conditions and for different aspect ratios and compared with the existing results.

TL;DR: In this article, the impossibility of partial swapping of quantum information was shown to hold in higher dimensions as well as in the case of qubits, i.e. the quantum states taken from two-dimensional Hilbert space.
Abstract: It is a well known fact that a quantum state $|\psi(\theta,\phi)>$ are represented by a point on the Bloch sphere, characterized by two parameters $\theta$ and $\phi$. Here in this work, we find out another impossible operation in quantum information theory . We name this impossibility as 'Impossibility of partial swapping of quantum information '. By this we mean that if two unknown quantum states are given at the input port, there exists no physical process, consistent with the principles of quantum mechanics, by which we can partially swap either of the two parameters $\theta$ and $\phi$ between these two quantum states. In this work we provided the impossibility proofs for the qubits(i.e the quantum states taken from two dimensional Hilbert space) and this impossible operation can be shown to hold in higher dimension also.

TL;DR: This paper has designed a memetic algorithm, also known as metaheuristic or hybrid heuristic, for optimal vertex coloring of a simple, symmetric and connected graph, for efficient algorithm design in large-scale test graph.
Abstract: Design and analysis of new algorithms are ever going phenomena in life of computer scientists. NP problems are attracting designers to design both heuristic and approximate algorithms that can result in better optimal and time-space efficient algorithms. Here, we have designed a memetic algorithm (also known as metaheuristic or hybrid heuristic), for optimal vertex coloring of a simple, symmetric and connected graph. Other than various uses, the problem has a perfume of efficient algorithm design in large-scale test graph. The earlier works, though encouraging, could not draw a conclusion that is deterministic. This paper is an essay towards further information in this area. Our work is progressing, but we don't know whether better players are needed for final bet through in this particular algorithm design.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered a model of the universe filled with modified Chaplygin gas and another fluid (with barotropic equation of state) and its role in accelerating phase of universe.
Abstract: In this letter, we have considered a model of the universe filled with modified Chaplygin gas and another fluid (with barotropic equation of state) and its role in accelerating phase of the universe. We have assumed that the mixture of these two fluid models is valid from (i) the radiation era to $\Lambda$CDM for $-1\le\gamma\le 1$ and (ii) the radiation era to quiessence model for $\gamma<-1$. For these two fluid models, the statefinder parameters describe different phase of the evolution of the universe.

TL;DR: This study finds that PQDM is not going to help in identifying two statistical mixtures at a remote location, and derives the bound on deletion probability from a no-signalling condition.
Abstract: In this study, we show that one cannot use non-local resources for probabilistic signalling even if one can delete a quantum state with the help of a probabilistic quantum deletion machine (PQDM). Here, we find that PQDM is not going to help us in identifying two statistical mixtures at a remote location. Also we derive the bound on deletion probability from a no-signalling condition.
