TL;DR: In this article, the conditions under which a series, summable by an Abel-type method, is also summable using a Borel-style method were considered. And they were shown to be equivalent to the conditions of G. Doetsch.
Abstract: We consider the conditions underwhich a series, summable by an Abel-type method, is also summable by a Borel-type method. This extends and improves the known result of G. Doetsch.

Abstract: 6-(2-Hydroxyethyl-1, 2-14C) amino-9-β-D-ribofuranosylpurine (I) and 6-(2-mercaptoethyl-35S) amino-9-β-D-ribofuranosylpurine (II) were synthesized for the investigation of their in vivo distribution in mice. All the reaction conditions were made by non-radioactive runs and it was found that thiol compound II was easily oxidized to form the disulfide IV in the purification procedure.

TL;DR: The gamma-ray spectroscopy method was used to determine the natural activity of soil samples taken from twenty-six locations including three nuclear reactor sites in order to obtain the average background activity of Taiwan as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The gamma-ray spectroscopy method was used to determine the natural activity of soil samples taken from twenty-six locations including three nuclear reactor sites in order to obtain the average background activity of Taiwan. Direct measurement of natural activity was also carried out by means of ionization chambers coupled with a vibrating reed electrometer. Fallout activity was detected during this investigation by spectroscopy method, and chemical method was used to analyze its main components 90Sr and 137Cs nuclides. The background radiation thus measured varied from 5.2μR/h to 15.2μR/h with an average value of 11.8μR/h while the gross activity concentration in air varied from 1.94×10-13μCi/cm3 to 4.95×10-13μCi/cm3 with an average value of 3.58×10-13μCi/cm3.

TL;DR: In this article, a new technique which permits rapid and precise measurement of vapor pressure over dilute solutions was used to investigate the intermolecular forces of acetone molecules in several inert organic solvents.
Abstract: A new technique which permits rapid and precise measurement of vapor pressure over dilute solutions was used here to investigate the intermolecular forces of acetone molecules in several inert organic solvents. In the dilute solution of acetone mole fraction less than 0.03, acetone dimers were found to be the main species in the solvents, cyclohexane and CCl4. And no associated species of acetone were found in benzene. The strength of dipole-dipole interactions which stabilize the acetone dimer were found comparable to that of some hydrogen bonds and also greatly influenced by solvents.

TL;DR: In this paper, it has been suggested that the crossover reaction is not sensitized by bulk radiation-produced defects, but rather is related to either the presence of radiation produced bulk structural and/or electronic species, or to local damage created by the recoil atom itself.
Abstract: ISOTHERMAL annealing curves for the formation of Cr(VI) from Cr(III) in K2CrO4 appear to have a similar form for recoil chromium-51 produced by the 50Cr(n,γ)51Cr process and for chromium-51 introduced as dopant 51Cr(III) during crystallization of the potassium Chromate1–3. Recent studies of the Cr(III) species themselves, however, reveal that the low temperature (0°–100° C) annealing behaviour of these species is significantly different when the irradiated crystals have been recrystallized before annealing, as compared with crystals which are annealed directly4. It has been suggested4,5 that the “crossover reaction”, characterized by a conversion of Cr(III)-dimer + polymer species to Cr(III)-monomer species during annealing in the temperature range 0°–100° C in neutron-irradiated K2CrO4, may be related to either the presence of radiation-produced bulk structural and/or electronic species, or to local damage created by the recoil atom itself, or both. We now have evidence that the “crossover reaction” is not sensitized by bulk radiation-produced defects.

TL;DR: A radiochemical method using 14C-labeled N-ethylmaleimide (NEM-14C) as a reagent for sulfhydryl determination is reassessed and described in detail and gives a value of 1.94 mole SH per mole protein, which is close to that generally accepted.
Abstract: A radiochemical method using 14C-labeled N-ethylmaleimide (NEM-14C) as a reagent for sulfhydryl determination is reassessed and described in detail The method is based on the activity of 14C-labeled S-succinyl-L-cysteine (III-14C) recovered from the controlled hydrolysis of the NEM-14C treated sulfhydryl-containing peptide and the correlation between III-14C and SH content established with glutathione It is simple, accurate and highly sensitive and is not affected by disulfide group as indicated by experiments with insulin Good result is obtained from tests with β-lactoglobulin It gives a value of 194 mole SH per mole protein, which is close to that generally accepted

Abstract: Molecular orbital calculations using the Huckel method, the ω-technique and the Pariser-Parr-Pople SCF method are compared with one another. The effect of including the overlap integral is compared to that excluding it. The calculated quantities agree well with the available experimental values.

TL;DR: In this article, a dual-cut model has been introduced, and the scattering amplitude is obtained by adding a series of dual cut amplitudes to the dual-resonance amplitude.
Abstract: The unstable-particle solution has been obtained from the Bethe-Salpeter equation. The solution is connected with a timelike potential, and is due to a continuous cut contribution. A dual-cut model has been introduced, and the scattering amplitude is obtained by adding a series of dual-cut amplitudes to the dual-resonance amplitude.

TL;DR: In this article, a method has been developed to determine the potassium content of ashed vegetation sample in the presence of high sodium content by non-destructive neutron activation analysis, which was applied to the analysis of vegetation for environmental monitoring.
Abstract: A method has been developed to determine the potassium content of ashed vegetation sample in the presence of high sodium content by non-destructive neutron activation analysis. Potassium acid phthalae and sodium bicarbonate were used as the standard materials for potassium and sodium, respectively. The induced activities of the standard materials or samples were measured using a C-M counter and thick or thin aluminum absorbers. The relationship between the difference of the counting rates through the two absorbers and the weight of each standard material was established. The relevancy between the ratio of the counting rates through the two absorbers and the ratio of the weight of both standard materials was also determined. Using these relationships the potassium content of vegetation samples having high sodium-potassium ratios was determined. This method was applied to the analysis of vegetation for environmental monitoring.

TL;DR: The Veneziano amplitude (VA) with infinite satellite terms of daughters has been studied carefully in this article, where it has been shown that it does not coincide with the Lorentz-pole description.
Abstract: The study of the Veneziano model (*) has recently shown that it is a theoretical success in many approximate dynamical schemes. }Iowever, the lack of the unitarity condition makes the model more or less an unrealistic one although it is so close to be a true one..~Ioreover, when comparing the model with the Lorentz-pole description it has been shown that they do not coincide (2). Therefore, in various ,papers (3) the Veneziano amplitude (VA) with infinite satellite terms of daughters has been studied carefully.
