Abstract: Map service system and method are provided. The system includes a base map database (DB) for containing base map information comprising geographical information relating to a certain region; a map processing server for transmitting the base map information to a first user and receiving first user layer information which is generated based on the base map information and comprises at least one object information and position identifier (PID) associated to the object information, from the first user; and a user layer DB for containing the first user layer information. Accordingly, by allowing the user to freely create his/her intended map, the map can be customized and the user's various needs can be satisfied.

Black esophagus with concomitant candidiasis developed after diabetic ketoacidosis.

Abstract: Black esophagus is a very rare disease and its pathogenesis has been unclear. Black esophagus developed concomitantly with candidiasis after diabetic ketoacidosis has not been reported yet. We report a case who developed esophageal stricture after the treatment of black esophagus and thus balloon dilatation was performed several times but failed, hence, surgical treatment was performed.

System and method for propagating inquiries and answers thereto through on-line human network

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for sharing reliable information or knowledge with regard to a question using an on-line human network. The on-line human network-based knowledge sharing method is to share knowledge based on an acquaintance information database. The database stores the IDs of a plurality of users, and the correspondence relationships of the user IDs, which represent acquaintanceships between the users on the on-line human network. The method includes allowing a first user to write a question message in a form that can be forwarded through the network, generating a question ID for identifying the question message and storing the generated question ID, causing the ID of the first user to correspond to the question ID, allowing a second user who is acquainted with the first user to receive the message, and causing the ID of the second user to correspond to the question ID.

Abstract: A system and method of managing log information of a user, includes: a service server receiving a login/logout request from the user; the service server selecting a location server group to transmit a log message to, corresponding to the login/logout request, based on the user's user identifier; transmitting the log message as an anycast message from the service server to a location server of the selected location server group; the location server, which receives the log message, generating a status update message corresponding to the log message; and the location server multicasting the generated status update message to remaining location servers of the selected location server group.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of operating an image-based searching engine. In the method, data for a plurality of images displayed on a web page is sent to a user's terminal. The engine receives, from the user's terminal, a user's input comprising a selection of at least one of the plurality of images. Subsequently, at least one search term associated with the selection is provided and a search using the at least one search term is conducted. After the search, a result of the search is sent to the user's terminal.

The system includes a location-data processing server for receiving terminal's location data of at least one format, and a location-data integrating server for converting the terminal's location data of the at least one format into a single unified location data format including location information marked on a map.

Design of a Ceiling Glass Installation Robot

Abstract: Building materials and components are much larger and heavier than many industrial materials. Ceiling glass is a type of building material for interior finishing. The demand for larger ceiling glass has increased along with the number of high-rise buildings and an increased interest in interior design. The objective of the study is to introduce robotic technology for installing ceiling glass on construction site. Robotically installed ceiling glass is receiving special attention because of the difficulties in moving to high installation positions and handling fragile building materials. Below, we describe the design of a ceiling glass installation robot. After analyzing a target project, we establish a design concept for a proposed robot. Finally, we describe the detailed design of the robot.

The system includes a messenger service system controlling transmission of instant messages of messenger users and monitoring and transmitting messenger users' status change information; at least one external service system monitoring whether a predetermined event occurs and creating a notification message indicating the occurrence of the event when the event occurs; and a synchronization server receiving the messenger users' status change information from the messenger service system, storing the received status change information in an online user database, determining whether a user to receive the notification message is online when receiving the notification message from the at least one external service system, transmitting the notification message to the messenger service system to send the notification message to the online user when the user is online.

Local terminal search system, filtering method used for the same, and recording medium storing program for performing the method

Abstract: A local terminal search system is provided, which includes a search request processing unit, a search/index unit, a filtering unit, and a complex-structured file preprocessing unit. The search request processing unit receives search request information and converts search result information into prescribed document format and provides it to a search interface program. The search/index unit searches a local terminal using a search keyword in the search request information to generate search result information and indexes information stored in the terminal. The filtering unit collects information of files stored in the terminal for filtering and determines if a file corresponding to the collected information is a complex-structured file which requires more than a prescribed threshold time for filtering and filters the file if it is not a complex-structured file. If it is a complex-structured file, the file preprocessing unit extracts or generates information required for filtering to generate preprocessed information segments.

Apodized fibre Bragg grating acousto-ultrasonic sensor under arbitrary strain using dual Fabry-Perot filters

Abstract: This paper describes a novel acousto-ultrasonic (AU) sensing system in which a fibre Bragg grating (FBG) is permanently built in a structure for in situ health monitoring. The AU wave detection using an FBG can be realized by a demodulation technique using an optical filter or light source narrower than the FBG spectrum. However, since the spectral wavelength shift induced from structural strain is much larger than the spectral oscillation induced from the AU wave, it is difficult for the demodulation wavelength to follow the spectral shift. For this work, we introduce a passive demodulation method regardless of the spectral shift based on an apodized FBG (AFBG) and dual fibre Fabry–Perot (FFP) filters. The free spectral range (FSR) of a high-finesse FFP filter is matched to the full-bandwidth of the AFBG without side lobes. Therefore, a part of the AFBG spectrum is always filtered by one of the multiple interferometric peaks. However, the wavelength regime near the maximum or minimum reflectivity of the AFBG provides insufficient sensitivity with respect to the wave. Therefore, another 1/4 FSR-biased FFP filter with the same FSR is simultaneously operated.

The Usefulness of all Arthroscopic Repair with Biceps Incorporation in Massive Sized Fullthickness Rotator Cuff Tears

Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to clinically evaluate the usefulness of all arthroscopic repair with biceps incorporation in massive sized full thickness rotator cuff tears. Materials and Methods: This is a prospective comparative outcome study evaluating a series of all arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs with biceps incorporation on massive(range: sized) from March 2003 to May 2006. Group I was twenty two cases of arthroscopically repaired with biceps incorporation, twenty cases of group II without biceps incorporation were analyzed. The average age of the patients was 58 years(range, years), and mean follow-up was 24 months(range, months). Results were statistically compared by Mann-Whitney test. Results: Average VAS for pain, ADL, UCLA score were not significantly different between group I and group II (P>0.05 for each). Forward elevation strength was 4.3 in group I, 3.5 in group II(P

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and system in which contextual information is obtained and inserted into the body of the e-mail. Users may authorize the access and analysis of the contents of their e-mails. Upon recognizing transmission of an email from one of the users, the content of the e-mail is analyzed to determine a topic or uncommon concept. The topic or uncommon concept of the email may be determined, for example, by analyzing the relative popularity or frequency of use of terms used in the e-mail. Information relevant to the e-mail's topic and content is then obtained by searching various sources, such as one or more databases, search servers, or the Internet. The relevant information may be inserted or otherwise included in the body of a reply e-mail or other related e-mail. The relevant information may be inserted in various forms, such as a hyperlink, or other formatted text. An e-mail may also be delivered to the sender to notify the sender of the information included in the reply e-mail. Furthermore, the e-mail and the relevant information may be translated into one or more languages depending on the preference of the sender or the receiver.

Treatment of Two- and Three-Part Fracture of Proximal Humerus using LCP

Abstract: Purpose: To evaluate the result and complication of treatment using Locking Compression Plate (LCP) for fracture of proximal humerus. Materials and Methods: Between 2004 and 2006, 21 patients with two-part and three-part fractures of the proximal humerus were treated by LCP fixation. Their average age was 54.9 years. Postoperative mean follow-up period was 22.9 months. The reduction was qualified and complication were assessed with final radiographs. The functional outcome was evaluated by Neer`s rating system. Results: By Neer`s functional evaluation, mean score of shoulder function was 86.3 and 18 case (86%) had excellent or satisfactory results. There was one case of nonunion but no infection or avascular necrosis of the humeral head. No correlation was found between the final result and the type of fracture, age, gender or quality of reduction. Conclusion: We obtained satisfactory result of LCP fixation for fracture of proximal humerus in this study. LCP fixation for proximal humerus fracture is a reliable method to obtain satisfactory reduction, rigid fixation and early exercise.
