TL;DR: In this article, the Schrodinger equation was transformed into a Hamiltonian canonical equation and the solution of the one-dimensional time-independent Schroffinger equation is considered by exponentially fitted symplectic integrators.
Abstract: The solution of the one-dimensional time-independent Schrodinger equation is considered by exponentially fitted symplectic integrators. The Schrodinger equation is first transformed into a Hamiltonian canonical equation. Numerical results are obtained for the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator and the doubly anharmonic oscillator.

TL;DR: A heuristic method is developed based on traditional CPM scheduling calculations and leveling algorithms that can be applied using normal scheduling software such as P3 and MS project, and is of value to practitioners.
Abstract: In this paper a solution approach is discussed for managing projects with resource constraints. For this purpose a heuristic method is developed based on traditional CPM scheduling calculations and leveling algorithms. The method can be applied using normal scheduling software such as P3 and MS project, and as such, it is of value to practitioners. An illustrative example is also presented herein to exemplify the concepts. The problem solved has importance and direct application to the management of a wide variety of project-structured efforts with prevailing resource constraints.

TL;DR: In this article, the Schrodinger equation is first transformed into a Hamiltonian canonical equation, and then the high-state eigenvalues of the one-dimensional time-independent Schroffinger equation are considered by symplectic integrators.
Abstract: The computation of high-state eigenvalues of the one-dimensional time-independent Schrodinger equation is considered by symplectic integrators. The Schrodinger equation is first transformed into a Hamiltonian canonical equation. Yoshida-type symplectic integrators are used as well as symplectic integrators based on the Magnus expansion. Numerical results are obtained for a wide range of eigenstates of the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator, the doubly anharmonic oscillator, and the Morse potential. The eigenvalues found by the symplectic methods are compared with the eigenvalues produced by Numerov-type methods. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2006

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on the challenges facing organizations in identifying the non-skier market, converting nonskiers to skiers, and overcoming the constraints that keep non skiers off the ski hills.
Abstract: This paper reports on the challenges facing organizations in identifying the non-skier market, converting non-skiers to skiers and overcoming the constraints that keep non-skiers off the ski hills. The authors present the outcome of field research undertaken between September and December 2003. A convenience sample of 1,365 of Greeces non-skiers was used. Data were statistically analysed using categorical regression, cluster analysis, frequencies, percentages and means in an effort to identify the effect of the basic classification/ independent variables of non-skiers socio-economic status on their perception of participation constraints. The findings from this research are described and discussed, and the authors highlight their relevance to marketing practitioners and policy makers in the formulation of appropriate marketing strategies to attract and satisfy these non-skier segments.

TL;DR: This study presents a QoS Provisioning & Network Management System based on an extension of the network management architecture followed and implemented within the scope of the European IST Project MANTRIP, which provides QoS Differentiation (Absolute and Relative) in IP DiffServ based Networks.
Abstract: The DiffServ architecture provides a scalable mechanism for QoS introduction in a TCP/IP network. DiffServ model is based on the aggregation of traffic flows at an ingress (or egress) point of a network and the IP packet marking for different priority flows, according to several classification criteria. Two approaches exist in the DiffServ architecture: the Absolute and the Relative. In Absolute DiffServ, an admission control scheme is used to provide QoS guarantees as absolute bounds of specific QoS parameters. The Relative DiffServ model provides QoS guarantees per service class expressed with reference to guarantees given to other classes defined. Our study presents a QoS Provisioning & Network Management System. This system is based on an extension of the network management architecture followed and implemented within the scope of the European IST Project MANTRIP. MANTRIP network management system supports quality of service configuration and monitoring in IP networks. Our extension provides QoS Differentiation (Absolute and Relative) in IP DiffServ based Networks. The proposed system has been applied and performed well on a real network testbed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyze the web sites of party candidates in the October 2002 prefecture elections in Greece and find that candidates are likely to present personal and political information on the web, without making negative statements regarding their opponents, make limited use of interactivity and multimedia techniques and rely less on professional web experts and more on the enthusiasm of volunteers or friends.
Abstract: This paper attempts to analyze the web sites of party candidates in the October 2002 prefecture elections in Greece. Candidate web sites regarding the 2002 prefecture elections are analyzed in terms of their political content, level of interactivity, use of multimedia techniques and level of professional appearance in their web campaign. Findings reveal that candidates are likely to present personal and political information on the web, without making negative statements regarding their opponents, make limited use of interactivity and multimedia techniques and rely less on professional web experts and more on the enthusiasm of volunteers or friends. The Greek prefecture election systems allow us also to make some tentative remarks about the impact of web campaigns in elections, comparing results between candidates with and without web sites in the second round of elections, where only two are the competitors.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the New Institutional Theory of Sociology (Di Maggio and Powell, 1983, 1991) to examine how accounting informs decision making in the Greek show caves.
Abstract: The thesis uses the New Institutional Theory of Sociology (Di Maggio and Powell, 1983, 1991) to examine how accounting informs decision making in the Greek show caves. The study focuses on four show caves selected out of the eight main shows caves operating in Greece. Three of the studied caves are owned by the local municipal council (one jointly with a prefectural council) and the fourth by the Anthropology Association of Greece. Data is gathered from multiple sources via questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, discussions and documentary evidence focusing on the role of accounting information in the day-to-day operation of the show caves. The first major finding of the thesis is that within the four studied organizations accounting reports are minimally used as key management, planning and control tools, similar to Greek organizations generally. This is not surprising given that prior research has suggested that Greek managers tend to prefer information from other, informal sources in decision making (Balias, 1994). Formal accounting information was therefore subservient to information generated from informal sources in these organizations.Second, institutional change affects the decision-making process in the management and operation of the show caves. This influenced how accounting information is deployed in the day-to-day decision making of the caves. The findings of the thesis challenges the justification for these external influences observed on decision making in the management and operations of the show caves. These external influences resulted in the minimal use of accounting information to support day-to-day decision making of the organizations studied. The study therefore questioned why these accounting systems were designed in the first place if they were not going to be used in practice. Institutional Theory analysis however provided an answer to this question. In effect these accounting systems though serve minimal rational purposes, were designed in order to maintain institutional legitimacy and cultural support (Powell and DiMaggio, 1991).The thesis supports prior research which had proposed New Institutional Theory as a valuable framework for understanding the organizational context of the use of accounting information in decision making. The thesis found that New Institutional Theory offered some relevant explanations for how the institutional environment of the organizations inclined them to use accounting control systems. Institutional theory is particularly important here because it provides explanations for changes in organizational practices such as accounting control practices.
