TL;DR: A tentative framework for the study of forward error recovery is presented and some preliminary results and some future research within the proposed framework are discussed.
Abstract: When the state of a program in execution is accidentally altered, a recovery action may be needed before the execution can proceed on Two approaches exist for the design of recovery actions: backward recovery consists of retrieving a previously saved correct state and restarting the computation; forward recovery consists of generating a (sufficiently) correct state from the current (not too) contaminated state This paper presents a tentative framework for the study of forward error recovery and then discusses some preliminary results and some future research within the proposed framework

TL;DR: The hypothesis of a relationship between the structural effects of hydrogen on the Si matrix and the electronic structure of hydrogenated a-Si has been tested on d.c, sputtered 1 μm thick a-Sit-x H x films, with x ranging from 0 to 9 at.% as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The hypothesis of a relationship between the structural effects of hydrogen on the Si matrix and the electronic structure of hydrogenated a-Si has been tested on d.c, sputtered 1 μm thick a-Sit-x H x films, with x ranging from 0 to 9 at.%. Comparative optical, electrical and X-ray diffractometry measurements have been performed on samples in which different kinds of H distribution and Si-H bonds were achieved by varying the total pressure (P tot) of Ar and H2 and the substrate temperature (T s). For H concentrations in the range 0–5 at.%, materials with either a predominant 2000cm−1 or 2100cm−1 infrared (i.r.) absorption stretching band could be prepared (without the 890cm−1 bending mode). It has been observed that, for a given H content, the optical gaps of these two materials are the same, despite the fact that their atomic distribution functions (ADF) exhibit significant differences in the region 4–6 A. The behaviour of the dark conductivity α with temperature is sensitive to the type of H dis...

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors develop a socio-analytic theory and methodology to explain the psychic and socio-cultural mechanisms and paradoxes which turn many individuals into strangers to their own culture, their own body and their own filiation and its bodily mark.
Abstract: The authors inquire to which degree the different levels of the bodily, psychological, and cultural alienation of mental patients reflect a psychologically and/or socially primary regression. By drawing on Arabo-islamic science and philosophy, and their own clinical practice, as well as by integrating various psychoanalytic and psychiatric theories, and psycho-physiological research, the authors develop a socio-analytic theory and methodology. By applying their approach on a psychological, intra-, inter-, and meta-cultural level the authors try to explain the psychic and socio-cultural mechanisms and paradoxes which nowadays turn many individuals into strangers to their own culture, their own body and into strangers to their own filiation and its bodily mark.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyse changes in the nature of economic interdependence from the 1960s to the 1970s and offer some explanations for these changes, drawing upon the framework of analysis developed in the previous chapters of the book.
Abstract: The unifying theme of this chapter is economic interdependence among the industrialised countries and its implications for monetary policies. In Sections I to III we analyse changes in the nature of economic interdependence from the 1960s to the 1970s and offer some explanations for these changes. In doing so, we draw upon the framework of analysis developed in the previous chapters of the book. In Sections IV and V we study the transmission abroad of policy shocks originating in the United States in recent history.

TL;DR: Chromia-alumina aerogels are known to be selective catalysts for the conversion of isobutene by NO into methacrylonitrile.
Abstract: Chromia-alumina aerogels are known to be selective catalysts for the conversion of isobutene by NO into methacrylonitrile. They are also active and selective for the conversion of paraffins like isobutane by NO into tnethacrylo- and aceto-nitriles. A redox process involving at least Cr3+ - Cr5+ ions is involved during catalysis as shown by ESR and by the kinetics data analysis and redox modeling.
