TL;DR: During the first 48 hr of the process these bacteria were better established than the yeasts during the State of Bahia (Brazil), which differs from those reported by other researchers working in other countries.
Abstract: Bacteria of the families Lactobacilaceae and Streptococcaceae were isolated from cocoa beans fermented by the traditional method used in the State of Bahia (Brazil). During the first 48 hr of the process these bacteria were better established than the yeasts. This observation differs from those reported by other researchers working in other countries. Identification studies showed eight homolactic species: Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus lactis, Pediococcus cerevisiae, Pediococcus acidilactici, Streptococcus lactis and two heterolactic species: Leuconostoc mesenteroides and Lactobacillus brevis. L. plantarum was found better distributed and the thermophile L. delbrueckii was found to constitute 26% of the population at 16 hr.

TL;DR: Six molar urea in sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gels altered the relative electrophoretic mobility of several soybean protein subunits.
Abstract: Six molar urea in sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gels altered the relative electrophoretic mobility of several soybean protein subunits. Glycinin acidic polypeptide components A(3) and A(4) could be resolved from the other acidic polypeptides. A variant of the delta' subunit of beta-conglycinin was identified.

TL;DR: Stability of the enzyme system remained practically unaltered during storage at room temperature or below for up to 7 mo, and there was no lactose crystallization after 120 days storage in products treated by permeabilized cells.

TL;DR: In this article, three aeration treatments on cacao fermentations in Bahia produced a basically similar microbial sequence which was influenced by the time and intensity of aeration, and Lactobacillaceae were predominant during the anaerobic period and Streptococeaceae under aerated conditions.
Abstract: Three aeration treatments on cacao fermentations in Bahia produced a basically similar microbial sequence which was influenced by the time and intensity of aeration. An initial, low temperature, semi-anaerobic phase dominated by yeasts and lactic acid bacteria, was superceded by aerobic and thermophyllic bacteria when the fermentations gained heat after aeration. Delay in aeration retarded this change in flora while over aeration accelerated it and, in addition, provoked a second lactic acid bacteria phase towards the end of fermentation. Lactobacillaceae were predominant during the anaerobic period and Streptococeaceae under aerated conditions. This marked, lactic acid bacteria population during the early stages of fermentation is not usual and would account for the lactic and acetic acids produced during this period.

TL;DR: In this paper, a polynomial estimating growth as a function of age, water input, nutrient input, solar radiation, and growing stock was considered to be the most appropriate.
Abstract: Methods for estimating timber production are discussed and 7 equations were fitted to E. grandis data by linear regression. A polynomial estimating growth as a function of age, water input (represented by annual actual evapotranspiration), nutrient input (represented by P in kg per hectare) solar radiation (represented by hours of sunshine) and growing stock (b.a.) was considered to be the most appropriate. The potential uses of the production function in intensive forest management are discussed. 55 references.

TL;DR: In this article, the consequences of nonminimal coupling of electromagnetic and gravitational fields are examined and an exact solution is presented, which corresponds to a generalization of the anisotropic universe of Kasner and which can be interpreted as a previous era of an isotropic (photon dominated) Friedmann-like universe.
Abstract: We examine the consequences of nonminimal coupling of electromagnetic and gravitational fields. An exact solution is presented, which corresponds to a generalization of the anisotropic universe of Kasner and which can be interpreted as a previous era of an isotropic (photon dominated) Friedmann-like universe.

TL;DR: A pesquisa experimental foi verificar se as tecnicas O-GOSHi e MOROTE-SEOI-NAGUE poderiam promover melhores indices of flexibilidade in criancas judocas as mentioned in this paper.

TL;DR: The incidence amongst the various ethnic groups is presented and generally dark skinned groups have a much higher incidence and the highest incidence has been reported in Kurdish Jews.
Abstract: Glucose-6-Phosphate dedydrogenase deficiency is an inborn error of metabolism. Individuals suffering from this abnormality may experience an acute hemolytic episode after ingestion of certain drugs and some vegetable food products (Brewer, Tarlov & Alving, 1960). This deficiency trait has a wide geographic distribution and the incidence varies greatly in different racial and ethnic groups. Generally dark skinned groups have a much higher incidence and the highest incidence has been reported in Kurdish Jews (60%, Motulsky, 1960). The incidence amongst the various ethnic groups is presented in Table 1 (Keller, 1971). Extensive lists of G-6-PD deficiency and variants in several population groups have been compiled (Yoshida, Beutler & Motulsky, 1971; Yoshida & Beutler, 1978).
