TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of the energy of formation of the precipitate in terms of the elastic strain energy plus an effective interaction energy between the misfit strains and the applied stress induced in the iron film by its substrate has been presented.

TL;DR: In Natal, the difference in assessment persisted throughout the colonial period, despite several unsuccessful attempts at agricultural settlement, but growing awareness of the limitations of the environment enabled a partial compromise between the two schools of thought late in the period as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The settlement of Natal in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries by colonists from other parts of South Africa and from Europe resulted in a conflict of ideas. The country was seen as excellent pastoral land by the Cape Trekkers, who entered from the interior of South Africa, and as good arable land by the British, who entered by sea from Europe. The difference in assessment persisted throughout the colonial period, despite several unsuccessful attempts at agricultural settlement, but growing awareness of the limitations of the environment enabled a partial compromise between the two schools of thought late in the period. The unsatisfactory land laws had a profound effect upon development in the nineteenth century, and some aspects are still visible in the landscape.

TL;DR: In this article, the (α,p) reaction on31P in the energy rangeEα=3.25 to 5.25 MeV and the reaction on29Si in the EE=3 to 4.8 MeV, have been used to determine nuclear properties of 35Cl and33S respectively.
Abstract: The (α,p) reaction on31P in the energy rangeE α=3.25 to 5.25 MeV and the (α,n) reaction on29Si in the energy rangeE α=3 to 4.8 MeV, have been used to determine nuclear properties of35Cl and33S respectively. Resonance energies, strengths and partial widths are reported. The analysis of angular distribution measurements yields spin values for 23 resonance levels in35Cl and 14 levels in33S.

TL;DR: In this article, the Harris-Goodenough (HG) and Dunn-Lorge (DL) scales were used to evaluate drawings by 79 children (M 11.44 yr.) who were rated on the HG and DL scales.
Abstract: Drawings by 79 children (M 11.44 yr.) were rated on the Harris-Goodenough (HG) and Dunn-Lorge (DL) scales. Acceptable rerate, interrater, and retest reliabilities were found. Criterion measures were: HG Point Scale IQs, an individual and a group intelligence test, scholastic achievement tests, examination marks, rankings by teachers, father's occupation, a dexterity test, and Cattell's Jr.-Sr. High School Personality Questionnaire. The quality scales could be used as approximations of the point scales. Validities ranged from low to moderate. No consistent pattern of correlations with the various intelligence scores emerged. Validities tended to be higher for the HG than for the DL scores.

TL;DR: The method of survey followed in this study is that of the bibliographical approach, i.e. a descriptive analysis of publications in terms of a number of categories as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The method of survey followed in this study is that of the bibliographical approach, i.e. a descriptive analysis of publications in terms of a number of categories. Presented is an analysis of the titles in J.C. Hoorweg and H.C. Marais, Psychology in Africa. A bibliography (Leiden, 1966). In this bibliography, publications were included irrespective of quality, but confidential reports or papers pertaining to white subjects only were omitted. The 1312 entries were categorized in terms of: year of publication; field of psychology; geographical location; language of publication; publication medium. Extracted from these data were cross-tables: year of publication/field of psychology; year of publication/geographical location; language of publication/year of publication/field of psychology.
