Abstract: Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of typical antipsychotic agent olanzapine with typical antipsychotic agent haloperidol in senile delirium.Methods One hundred and seventy five cases of patients with delirium were randomly divided into olanzapine treatment group( n =74),haloperidol treatment group( n =72) and a control group( n =29).They were prospectively observed and treated for a week,assessed with Delirium Rating Scale (DRS),Clinical Global Impression Scale (CGI),Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) and Extrapyramidal Symptom Rating Scale (ESRS).Results (1)CGI SI scores of olanzapine treatment group,haloperidol treatment group and a control group were reduced significantly after treatment ( P 0.01).(2) The effective rate of each group was 82.4%,87.5% and 31% respectively.The effective rate of treatment groups and control group had significant difference ( P 0.01).(3) Both olanzapine and haloperidol were effective at low doses.Among three groups,olanzapine was the earliest on response time,haloperidol was the second,and the control was the last.(4)Drowsiness is a common side effect of olanzapine.Its incidence rate had no significant difference comparing with the haloperidol ( P 0.05).The incidence rates of dry mouth and extrapyramidal symptoms in haloperidol group were higher than that in olanzapine,which had significant difference( P 0.01).Conclusion Olanzapine and haloperidol had similar effects on senile delirium.However,olanzapine effected more rapidly and had fewer side effects.

Abstract: Objectives To investigate the current prevalence of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents in Chongqing urban areas and to describe the relationships between weight and blood pressure.Methods Preschool and school-based screening was performed in 23292 children and adolescents with 12039 boys and 11253 girls, aged 3 to 18 years from September 2003 to March 2004 in Chongqing urban areas. Age, gender, weight, height, waist, hip circumference and blood pressure were ascertained.Results (1)Overweight and obesity prevalence rates in children and adolescents were 12.44% and 3.72%, respectively. The prevalence of overweight and obesity in boys were 14.38% and 4.99%, respectively, in girls were 10.37% and 2.35%, respectively. (2) The prevalence rates of increased systolic and diastolic blood pressures were significantly higher in both sexes in overweight and obesity than in normal weight adolescents (P0.005). (3)The abnormal ratio of W/H among obesity boys and girls were 10.89% and 75.00% respectively.Conclusion The overweight and obesity were prevalent in preschool and school-aged children and adolescence in Chongqing urban areas. The blood pressure increased progressively as the BMI increased.The percentage of abdominal adiposity in girls is higher than boys.

Abstract: Objection To determine the frequency distribution of vitamin D receptor (VDR) genotype in osteoporosis in Chongqing area and to evaluate the correlation between VDR gene and polymorphisms and bone mineral density (BMD) .Methods Polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and restriction analysis were used to determine VDR genotypes in 159 postmenopausal women .their under one third of radioulnar in no dominant arm BMD was measured by single photon absorptimetry (SPA).Results The frequency distribution of the VDR genotype in osteoporosis was: bb ,Bb ,and BB genotype accounted for 83.25%, 16.75% , and 0% respectively; In no osteoporosis, they were 84.61% , 15.39% ,and 0% respectively ( P 0.05) .The BMD in osteoporosis of different genotypes were (0.475±0.09)g/cm 2 (bb),(0.473±0.10)g/cm 2 (Bb)respectively ( P 0.05). Conclusion There is no association between VDR genotype and BMD in osteoporosis in Chongqing area.

Abstract: Objective The aim was to introduce the technique of lobectomy with video assisted thoracicscopic surgery Methods 16 cases of lung cancer, 4 cases of bronchiectasis, 3 cases of Inflammatory pseudotumor, 1 cases of hamartoma and 2 cases of tuberculoma were underwent lobectomy from May, 1999 to Dec, 2001 Results There were no mortality associated with the procedure But 1 cases was re operated to stanch bleeding and 1 case's incision was extended Conclusion Lobectomy by video assisted thoracoscopic surgery was reliable and with the advantages of less invasiveness, recovery fast, and fewer complication The long term effect for the lung malignant tumor need to verify

Abstract: Objective To investgate the possibility and accuracy of identification of the sentinel lymph node (SLN) in breast carcinoma through subareolar versus peritumoral injection by tracing marker.Methods Ninety patients with operable invasive breast carcinomas and clinically node-negative.Fourty of them were injected with 1.0 mCi of technetium- 99 sulfur colloid(unfiltered) at preoperation and 2ml methylene blue dye was injected inoperation in subareolar;radioactive SLNs were identified using a hand-held gamma detector probe,all blue stained SLNs were removed during operation. The other 50 of them were injected 2-4ml methylene blue dye in peritumor during operation,all blue stained lymph nodes found during operation were considered as SLN.All SLNs were removed for pathological examination separately.All patients had axillary lyphadenectomy(ALDN) and routinely pathological examination.Results SLNs were identified in 39 of 40 patients through subareolar injection,with an average of (1.3±0.7) SLNs and identifying rate was 97.5% .Histologic status of SLNs predicted axillary nodes status with an accuracy rate of 97.4% and false nagative rate is 2.6%(1 cases). The SLNs were identified in 45 of 50 patients through peritumoral injection, with an average of ( 2.6 ±0.9) SLNs and identifying rate was of 90%.Histologic status of SLNs predicted axillary nodes status with an accuracy rate of 91% and false nagative rate of 8.9%(4 cases).Conclusion Subareolar injection of technetium plus blue dye is more accurate than peritumoral injection of blue dye.
