TL;DR: Harmony and innovation are brought together as in music to devise a search pattern that can identify a large number of local optima in pipe network design and a minimum power loss criterion is introduced to enhance feasibility.
Abstract: The Pipe network design problem is considered by choosing least-cost diameter pipes to satisfy flow demands and minimum head restrictions. Harmony and innovation are brought together as in music to devise a search pattern that can identify a large number of local optima in pipe network design. Improvization is brought in by varying the pitch rate parameter, and harmony is maintained by accumulating improving solutions. Because in pipe networks optimization by its very nature removes any redundancy, a minimum power loss criterion is introduced to enhance feasibility. The efficacy of the algorithm is demonstrated by solving a test nonlinear program and a pipe network problem from the literature to global optimum. Several near-optimal solutions are reported.

TL;DR: What do you do to start reading the evolution of strategy?
Abstract: What do you do to start reading the evolution of strategy? Searching the book that you love to read first or find an interesting book that will make you want to read? Everybody has difference with their reason of reading a book. Actuary, reading habit must be from earlier. Many people may be love to read, but not a book. It's not fault. Someone will be bored to open the thick book with small words to read. In more, this is the real condition. So do happen probably with this the evolution of strategy.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss industrial robot characteristics of accuracy and repeatability, and an error tree is developed to identify the factors that affect these characteristics, and a new measure called degree of influence is established that qualitatively assesses the relative contribution of each kinematic parameter variation to the accuracy of rigid manipulators.
Abstract: In this article, we discuss industrial robot characteristics of accuracy and repeatability. The factors that affect these characteristics are identified, and an error tree is developed. Subsequently, the accuracy and repeatability are investigated utilizing the Denavit-Hartenberg kinematics parameters, the homogeneous transformation matrix, and the differential transformation matrix theory, and corresponding measures are developed. The formulation indicates that the influence matrices associated with joint variables are constant. A new measure called degree of influence is established that qualitatively assesses the relative contribution of each kinematic parameter variation to the accuracy and repeatability of rigid manipulators. The developed formulation provides for easy evaluation of the degree of influence measures for rigid manipulators in either numerical or symbolic form. A numerical example is included in which the degree of influence of the kinematics parameters for an articulated manipulator, PUMA 560, are evaluated and analysed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a measure of process capability for the multivariate normal case is proposed, which takes into account both proximity to the target and the variation observed in the process, and some statistical properties associated with the measure are examined.
Abstract: A measure of process capability for the multivariate normal case is proposed. This measure takes into account both proximity to the target and the variation observed in the process. The result is analogous to the univariate measure of process capability referred to as Cpm. Some statistical properties associated with the measure are examined. Multivariate specification limits and their creation are also discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the potential benefits of incorporating active controllers in order to remedy the drawbacks associated with conventional passive suspensions and proposed a methodology to define the performance index, together with the weighting matrices being assigned, to achieve optimum ride comfort and the road handling requirements.
Abstract: This paper examines the potential benefits of incorporating active controllers in order to remedy the drawbacks associated with conventional passive suspensions. A methodology to define the performance index, together with the weighting matrices being assigned, are presented in order to achieve optimum ride comfort and the road handling requirements. Nondeterministic inputs are applied to simulate the road surface conditions more realistically. Stochastical comparisons between the two controllers and passive system are carried out to gain insight into the performance of the controllers. The results demonstrate that an optimal state-feedback controller, when it indudes passenger acceleration in the performance index, retains excellent ride comfort and road-handling characteristics.
