TL;DR: In this paper, the potential of the various geologic formations in Ghana and the water quality have been assessed to meet the rural water supply needs, and the groundwater potential of Ghana's geology formations and water quality has been assessed.
Abstract: The exploitation of groundwater for water supply needs of many rural communities in Africa has been on the increase in the last decade. The emphasis or reliance on groundwater supplies for rural communities stems from the fact that groundwater sourcing is not only feasible but also the most economic source of potable water. The groundwater potential of the various geologic formations in Ghana and the water quality have been assessed to meet the rural water supply needs. TL;DR: In this paper, the main factors influencing induction welding of thermoplastic with thermoset composites are identified and discussed, including the film material, the film thickness and the welding temperature.
Abstract: With the increasing requirements on aircrafts with respect to performance and costs, there is a need for a systematical use of the advantages of different materials and innovative joining technologies. This necessitates inter alia the use of thermoplastic- and thermoset composites. The most promising technology which enables an automated process to join composite parts without rivets is the induction welding. However, the parameters influencing induction welding of thermoplastic with thermoset composites are not yet described in literature. Therefore in this study, the main factors influencing this process the film material, the film thickness and the welding temperature were identified and discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied home-power optimization software for evaluation of design and performance of both off-grid and grid-connected power systems for costbenefit analysis of a wind-solar hybrid power generation system.
Abstract: HOMER power optimization software for evaluation of design and performance of both off-grid and gridconnected power systems has been applied for cost-benefit analysis of a wind-solar hybrid power generation system. Comparison was also made with the cost per kilowatt of grid power supply. The hybrid system had a pay-back period of about thirty-three years. The central grid power was the least expensive option, but might not be available to most rural households far from the grid. Hence, the autonomous distributive system of hybrid power generation was advantageous.
