Journal Article
TL;DR: The production of HGF and its high-affinity receptor, c-Met, was studied in a rat model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion and revealed that HGF mRNA expression in the heart was augmented threefold at 24 and 48 hours and remained elevated by twofold at 120 hours after the myocardium was reperfused.

Journal Article
TL;DR: The Batista operation can be performed with relatively low risk and clinical improvement was obvious in elective operation, but risk is very high in emergency cases and proper guidelines for patient selection and choice of procedure are critically important to achieve a successful outcome.

31 citations

Journal Article
TL;DR: Prolonged P wave duration and increased PTF V1 are electrocardiographic indicators for the coexistence of electrophysiologic abnormalities in patients with idiopathic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.

19 citations

Journal Article
TL;DR: Transthoracic assessment of coronary flow velocity using color Doppler echocardiography reveals that coronary flow reserve is reduced in patients with HCM because of increased baseline resting diastolic mean velocity.

19 citations

Journal Article
TL;DR: A transient augmentation of sympathetic tone may be important in the onset of atrial fibrillation, and the ratio to the low frequency power (LF) spectrum (L/H represents sympathetic nervous activity) of heart rate variability during sinus rhythm was compared.

13 citations

Journal Article
TL;DR: The percentage areas of myocardial fibrosis and disarray of the D HCM hearts were extremely high compared with the HCM hearts, indicating that DHCM is not included in natural course of HCM.

13 citations

Journal Article
TL;DR: By reading, you can know the knowledge and things more, not only about what you get from people to people, but also about how to be successful in everything.

12 citations

Journal Article
TL;DR: Left ventricular systolic function in patients with left bundle branch block may be suspected by observing electrocardiographic findings, which indicate patients with underlying mild hypertensive heart disease may have a favorable left ventricular Systolic Function.

Journal Article
TL;DR: It is indicated that patients with latent infective endocarditis and mitral valve aneurysm should be considered as potential candidates for valve surgery.

Journal Article
TL;DR: Findings indicate that elevated levels of plasma homocysteine are related to atherosclerotic lesions of saphenous vein grafts after coronary artery bypass surgery as well as coronary atherosclerosis.

Journal Article
TL;DR: Cholesterol embolization syndrome should be detected in the early stage based on eosinophilia or clinical symptoms after cardiac catheterization, and supportive therapy started as soon as possible, including discontinuance of anticoagulant therapy, hemodialysis for renal dysfunction and epidural anesthesia for skin findings of purple toes.

Journal Article
TL;DR: In this paper, the preventive effect of an antioxidant, vitamin E, on the development of nitrate tolerance was investigated by using forearm plethysmography to measure the change in the forearm blood flow before and 5 min after sublingual administration of 0.3 mg nitroglycerin.

Journal Article
N Yanagi1, T Maruyama, S Uehata1, Y Wakimoto1, Y Sasaki1, Makoto Arita1
TL;DR: It is speculated that in patients with water intoxication, the negative inotropism of the heart caused by low plasma osmolarity prevails over the positiveInotropism caused byLow serum sodium concentration.

Journal Article
TL;DR: Late lumen loss in stents is the result of neointimal proliferation in cases without restenosis, and a larger stent-to-vessel CSA ratio reflects increased neointedimal proliferation, as shown at 6 months follow-up.

Journal Article
TL;DR: Patients with severe cardiac dysfunction or cardiac arrest caused by disopyramide intoxication can be supported by percutaneous cardiopulmonary support until cardiac function is restored.

Journal Article
TL;DR: In this article, a rat heart was transfected with human heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) gene by intracoronary infusion of hemagglutinating virus of Japan (HVJ)-liposome containing human HSP70 gene.

Journal Article
TL;DR: A dose of 80 micrograms of acetylcholine, more than the maximal standard dose, might be clinically useful for the induction of spasm in the right coronary artery if coronary spasm of this artery is strongly suspected.

Journal Article
TL;DR: The Batista operation offers real hope for patients with end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy, but the authors still have much to learn.

Journal Article
TL;DR: The measurement of the thickness of basal interventricular septum might be a useful tool to estimate and monitor the effect of antihypertensive treatment in patients with mild essential hypertension.

Journal Article
TL;DR: Although the sensitivity of ATP echocardiography improved in patients with multivessel disease more than in those with single-vessel disease, detection of all diseased vessels was achieved in only 10% of patients with multi-vessels disease.

Journal Article
TL;DR: Hepatocyte growth factor is useful as a prognostic indicator and reflects the clinical course in patients with acute myocardial infarction.

Journal Article
TL;DR: Mitral reconstruction improved the symptoms in patients with DCM and severe MR in the short term, however, 5 of 6 patients died in the intermediate or long-term, and Mitral reconstruction may be a therapeutic option for early outcome in Patients with refractory congestive heart failure due to DCM.

Journal Article
TL;DR: The Tokyo TROP T Trial by general practitioners and office cardiologists concluded that the combination of electrocardiographic evaluation and use of troponin T is a rapid and efficient diagnostic method for the evaluation of patients with suspected acute myocardial infarction.

Journal Article
M Sato1, K Takenaka, T Yamashita, S Koike, K Natori, K Nakahara
TL;DR: This is the first case of electrocardiographic recording at the time of sudden death in a patient with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which occurred while walking on the street.

Journal Article
TL;DR: In conclusion, asymmetric septal hypertrophy was characterized by diastolic dysfunction of the thickened septum, and intramyocardial pulsed doppler echocardiography can detect regional myocardial dysfunction earlier than the mitral inflow Doppler method.

Journal Article
TL;DR: A rare case of aortic and mitral valve aneurysms complicated with infective endocarditis was accurately diagnosed by transesophageal echocardiography.

Journal Article
TL;DR: The correlation observed agrees with previous studies in which the ergonovine test was performed in patients without induced spasm by intracoronary injection of acetylcholine and that the super-imposed ergonvine test is useful for diagnosing patients with variant angina.
