Abstract: During 1996~2003, Meloidogyne species on 53 plants were investigated in 10 cities of Shandong province. With the combination of morphological study and esterase phenotype analysis, five species were detected, including 4 most common species and an unidentified one. In Shandong, M.hapla and M.incognita were most commonly distributed, the former was prevailing on outdoor plants and the latter was prevailing on the vegetables in greenhouse. M.arenaria was less popular in Shandong which mainly harmed some trees in certain regions. M.javanica was limitedly distributed with bad development in Shandong. The unidentified population was likely closed to M.platani, but they differed in host range, esterase phenotype and some morphological characteristics. The unidentified one harmed sycamore trees very much in Qingdao. In the study, morphological variations in different degrees were found in the 4 most common species, morphological characteristics of some populations were much different from those of the typical species. To reach accurate identification, thorough study of all morphological characteristics of all stages and analysis of isozymes such as esterase were needed.

Abstract: The study was carried out on embryo culture of "Lapins" and "Stella" of sweet cherry(Prunus avium L)using 1/2MS basal medium with 3% sucrose The result showed that 45 days of fruit growth after full-bloom (PF1 was about 09) was the best period for embryo culture 60 and 80 days of chilling treatments(2~4℃) was suitable for breaking embryo dormancy GA3 (15 mg/L) was effective for breaking the embryo dormancy whether the embryo were with or without coat Higher plant stands were found on the media containing both GA3 (10mg/L, 5mg/L) and BA(2mg/L, 4mg/L) GA3 and BA were more effective in breaking embryo dormancy when naked embryos were used

Abstract: Under salinized moist soil in coastal regions ,silica fertilizer experiments were carried on rice.The results showed that rice absorbing silicon amount varions growth stage was as follows: tilling stage-heading stageheading stage-mature stageseedling stage-tilling stage.Therefore,silica fertilizer could both be made use of base fertilizer and be made use of topdressing in the tillering stage of rice .By comparing the applying silica fertilizer treatments with its contrast,we could see that the rice mature stage was advanced,and the ability of rice resisting adversity was strengthened.The influence after applying silica fertilizer on the growth and differentiation of rice mainly reflected on the mid-later stages. The effect of increasing production was 12%~18%.

Abstract: In this study, several factors, including concentrations of DNA, Mg2+, dNTPs, primer and TaqE, affecting RAPD amplification in apple genome were analyzed and a better system was promoted: the total reaction volume was 25μl which contained DNA template 40~60ng, TaqE 1.2U, MgCl2 2.0mmol/L, dNTPs 0.2 mmol/L and ten base random primer 0.45μmol/L. The PCR amplification procedure used in this study was as follows: pre-denature at 94℃ for 4 mins, and then 94℃ 30s,37℃ 35s,72℃ 90s,for 40cycles, finally extended at 72℃ for 5mins.

Abstract: The fungistasis of Xanthium sibiricum were tested with isolate hypha of Fusarium oxysporum, Valsa mali, etc. under separate cultivating conditions. The concentration of these extracts was 0.1g/ml. Results showed that Xanthium sibiricum had plenty of bioactive substance to restrain hypha growth. Diethyl ether and acetone extracts of Xanthium sibiricum (the whole, not including fruit) and these two kinds of extracts of leaf had strong fungistasis. The antifungal rates of diethyl ether and acetone extracts of Xanthium sibiricum to 3 tested fungus were 79.2%,100%,100%;76.8%,100%,100%。The antifungal rates of diethyl ether and acetone extracts of leaf to 4 tested fungus were 83.6%,100%,100%,75.3%;88.4%,100%,100%,86.9%。
