Abstract: This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking (MPPT) using a fuzzy logic control (FLC) algorithm for robust in environment changing. The power available at the output of photovoltaic (PV) cell keeps changing with radiation and temperature because solar cell exhibits a nonlinear current-voltage characteristic. So its maximum power point (MPP) of PV cells varies with radiation and temperature. MPPT methods are used in PV systems to make full utilization of PV array output power which depends on radiation and temperature. Conventional MPPT controller such as constant voltage (CV), perturbation and observation (PO) and incremental conductance (IC) are researched. But these controllers have the problem that is failure to MPP with environment changing. The proposed FLC controller is based the fuzzy control algorithm and able to robust control with environment changing. Also the PV systems applied FLC controller is modeled by PSIM and the response characteristics of FLC method according to the environment variation is analyzed through comparison with performance of conventional methods. The validity of this controller is proved through response results.

Abstract: Preferred combinations of illuminance and color temperature of lighting depend on daily living activities. We investigated whether the illumination stimuli of LED lighting can enhance attention and relaxation level by controlling color temperature and illuminance level according to activities. Illuminations and color temperatures of LED flat panels are controlled in accordance with activities such as office work and resting. The attention and relaxation level under the task specific lightings are compared with those under normal lighting condition. Single channel EEG signals from the NeuroSky`s Mindset are used to estimate attention and relaxation level of human subjects under different lighting conditions. Experiment results show that high color temperature with high illuminance of LED lightings (6600K, 800lx) shows improved attention level compared with conventional lighting conditions (4000K, 500lx).

Abstract: Light is an important environmental element for people to live and do creative activities in residential areas. Especially, people are used to live under artificial light in artificial interior surroundings for the most times. Currently, the lighting quality of residential areas has been improved, but it still does not reach to the recommended level because the luminous environment of present residential areas is only based on the life behavior which puts its priority to clear vision. Therefore, it is necessary that proper standard illumination must be used for various uses and purposes. From this point of view, this paper investigated the essence of light in residential areas, and the luminous environment for apartments was measured This paper finally established well-coordinated standard illuminance, derived from the measurement and analysis of luminous environment from these cases.

Abstract: This paper presents a novel maximum power point tracking for a photovoltaic power (PV) system with a direct control plan. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) must usually be integrated with photovoltaic (PV) power systems so that the photovoltaic arrays are able to deliver maximum available power. The maximum available power is tracked using specialized algorithms such as Perturb and Observe (P&O) and incremental Conductance (indCond) methods. The proposed method has the direct control of the MPPT algorithm to change the duty cycle of a dc-dc converter. The main difference of the proposed system to existing MPPT systems includes elimination of the proportional.integral control loop and investigation of the effect of simplifying the control circuit. The proposed method thus has not only faster dynamic performance but also high tracking accuracy. Without a conventional controller, this method can control the dc-dc converter. A simulation model and the direct control of MPPT algorithm for the PV power system are developed by Matlab/Simulink, SimPowerSystems and Matlab/Stateflow.
