Abstract: The state of the arts on power-system security region methodology studies,that have been mainly done in Tianjin University,is to be concisely introducedAt first the stimulations on the study,the concepts and the definitions of security regions are givenThen three kinds of practical security regions of power system found up to now are presentedAmong them the first one is practical dynamic security region(PDSR)in power injection space of pre-fault power system to guarantee transient stabil-ity,the second one is practical security region to guarantee static voltage stability in cut-set power flow space(CVSR)and the third one is practical security region to guarantee small disturbance stability related to Hopf bifurcation(PHSR)in power injec-tion spaceThey are based on the facts that the critical boundaries of stabilities can be approximately represented by hyper-planes,in engineering point of viewSuch kinds of mathematic descriptions have significant superiorities as follows:they are able to develop direct methods of computing the boundaries of the security regions,to realize visualizations of the security re-gions,to reduce dramatically the computation burden of probabilistic security assessment of power system in case of considering the uncertainty of node power injections,as well as to overcome easily the difficulties in dealing with stability constraints for a series of optimization problems of power systemBased on the PDSR and CVSR,a visualization system and a probabilistic security monitoring system have been developed in Tianjin University,and some promising study results are obtained in various aspects such as optimal power flow,security synthesis control,risk assessment and control,and security pricing

Abstract: To solve the “soft-field” nature and the ill-posed problem in electrical capacitance tomography technology,the conjugate gradient image reconstruction method and its modified method(i.e. regularized conjugate gradient method) are presented based on the singular decomposition theory of the sensitivity matrix. Simulated test shows that through 200 times iterations the residual and computing time are 0.139 5 and 9.3 s respectively for Landweber algorithm,but that are 1.357 7×10~(-4) and 6.8 s respectively for conjugate gradient method without regularization.It is thus clear that conjugate gradient method can provide images superior to those obtained with the linear back projection (LBP) and Landweber iterative algorithm and other image reconstruction methods.

Abstract: In this paper the concept of composite function and coordinating function with respect to composite system are presented from the view of system science,and a coordinating measurement model is established on the basis of synergetics.Furthermore,the correctness and practical effectiveness of the above results are tested by using them to analyze the current corrdination situation of a specific “education economy science and technology” composite system.The study described in this paper is the generalization of the results of [2] in both theoretical and applying aspects.

Abstract: The pollution of Bohai Bay has become the major limit to its further development.Most of the existing researches concentrate on the nutritional salt pollution while little attention has been paid to the heavy metals pollution in seawater.In this study,histogram analysis of average value,variation analysis,Mann-Kendall test and inverse distance weighted interpolation were applied to the analysis of the pollution level and temporal-spatial variation trend of heavy metals(Cu、Zn、 Pb、Cd、Hg)in Bohai Bay in these 10 years(1996—2005).Study results show that the seawater in Bohai Bay is mainly polluted by Zn,Pb and Hg and only slightly polluted by Cu and Cd.Concentrations of each heavy metal in the drought period,wet period and common period do not have significant differences,while time series trend and concentration sudden change period of each heavy metal were also different.Spatial analysis indicates that the concentrations of all heavy metals have similar trend,decreasing from near-shore to off-shore,and decreasing from south to north except Cu.Land-based pollution,sea water aquaculture,offshore oil exploitation and air fall dust are the major sources of heavy metal pollution in Bohai Bay.
