A Survey on the Percetption and Understanding of E-learning from High education Teachers

Abstract: Nowadays E-learning is being applied in high education to promote the transform of the instruction mode. And the teachers are the main forces to advance the implementation of E-learning. Their perception,understanding and attitudes,to great extent,influence the effectiveness and success of E-learning. This paper analyzes the data from an in-depth interview of some teachers from high education and discusses their perception and understanding of E-learning as well as the experience and difficulties in the instructional practice. The author also offers some suggestions. Hopefully it will be helpful to promote the implementation of E-learning.

The Construction of Corpora in a Classic-Cotemporary Chinese Parallel Corpus

Abstract: The apparent differences between Classic and Contemporary Chinese make traditional ancient works written in Classic Chinese difficult to understand by modern people. The Classic and Contemporary Chinese parallel corpus has being built to provide a platform for those who hope to appreciate Chinese traditional ideology and culture and experts in relative fields to read,translate,retrieve and compute ancient Chinese works. The construction of corpora is the foundation of building a corpus. This paper explicates the systematic construction of the open resources of a large Classic and Contemporary Chinese parallel corpus from five steps:designing,collecting,formatting,bilingual aligning and XML marking.

Design of Online Courseware for Autonomous Learning

Abstract: Online courseware can be classified into three categories by its application model,including:application for imparting teaching,application for autonomous learning and application for blending learning.In distance education,it is needed to design and develop online courseware for autonomous learning.This kind of online courseware contains six components of instructional design,including:learning contents,expanding learning resources,instructional strategy,motivational strategy,learning guidance and learning evaluation.This article analyzes the method of design of each components,and sums up a model for the instructional design of online courseware.

Abstract: There is a common contradiction between individualized demands and the masses of English teaching resources,In order to find a way out,an individualized search model of English teaching resources(ISMTR) was designed,which employs the individualized information service on the network into teaching.It defers to the differences of users,studies their habits and interest.By filtering the teaching resources,the precise searches and recommendation can be made.It also conducted an experiment to verify the feasibility.It was demonstrated that ISMTR can effectively improve the precision and recall of the searching in English teaching resources.

Research on Teachers' Role in Distance Collaborative Learning

Abstract: Collaborative learning in distance not only changes the learning environment, but also makes a distinct difference towards teachers' role, attitude and responsibility. By using content analysis and Critical Incident Recall, we conduct a research on the asynchronous collaboration interaction of a distance course. The results show that the teacher is taking diverse roles in distance collaborative learning, such as planning meaningful tasks, providing technical support, facilitating participation and preparing resources for extended learning. Meanwhile, the participation, the time of engagement, the appropriate encourage of teachers have significant correlation with students' performance.
