TL;DR: In this article, a modified oscillator model is used to calculate the nuclear potential energy surfaces as a function of deformations. And the average behavior of the surface is normalized to that of a liquid drop through the employment of a generalized Strutinsky prescription, and a synthesis of the single-particle model and the liquid-drop model is obtained.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the surface delta interaction (SDI) operator is replaced by a generalized pairing interaction depending only on B and v. The favored pair is defined for each J as the specific superposition of two-particle states acted upon by this separable interaction, and B = 0, defines the number of nucleons not members of favored pairs.

TL;DR: In this article, the structure functions Fj which describe high-energy neutrino-nucleon scattering are discussed and a sum rule for F3 is derived assuming that F3 satisfies an unsubtracted dispersion relation.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the presence of a complex pole in the upper half plane of the physical sheet leads to points of non-analyticity in the physical region, such that the values of the amplitude to either side of the point are not related by analytic continuation.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the Veneziano model for the binary meson reaction (n = 4), generalized by Bardakci and Ruegg and by Virasoro to n = 5, is further extended to the case of arbitrary n. The multi-resonance structure of the n-meson reaction is analyzed with the help of quark diagrams.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, an integral representation of the generalized Veneziano amplitude for the n -meson reaction is constructed in such a way that all the external mesons appear on an equal footing and thus all the requirements of crossing symmetry are fulfilled.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that for a n −particle collision, the longitudinal phase-space distribution reduces to a manifold of dimension n −2, and the main properties of longitudinal phase space plots, the way in which relativistically invariant subenergies and momentum transfers vary along them, as well as the qualitative properties of reggeized multi-peripheral amplitudes.
