TL;DR: In this article, the impact of bottom trawling on animals of the sea bed has been investigated in the North Sea and in the German Wadden Sea, where polychaetes are on the incline and molluscs and crustaceans on the decline, and it is not unlikely that in the long-term a shift in species and numbers may occur along the same lines.

TL;DR: In this paper, the potential environmental impact of a large-scale sand-dredging (1 · 109 m3) is evaluated and the most suitable mining methods, the effect on water quality-turbidity, the disturbance of the balance between bottom sediment and water column in relation to heavy metals, nutrients and PCB's are discussed, as well as the effect of dredging upon plankton, bottom fauna, fishes and on larvae and young stages of sea animals in general.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of marine reserves as an approach to coral reef management in Southeast Asia and isolates the most effective management techniques is compared with two similar management areas in Indonesia and two in Malaysia.
