TL;DR: This algorithm for computing viewsheds based on reference planes has no use for DEM interpolations, without redundance calculations, and it is slightly influenced by the area of DEMs.
Abstract: Compared with traditional sightline based algorithms, the algorithm for computing viewsheds based on reference planes has no use for DEM interpolations, without redundance calculations. The time for computing a viewshed has nothing to do with the location of the viewpoint and the area of the viewshed, and it is slightly influenced by the area of DEMs.

TL;DR: The information technology development accelerates the development of new modes of the digital urban planning system and includes the application of GIS in spatial data updating instead of traditional surveying software technology.
Abstract: The information technology development accelerates the development of new modes of the digital urban planning system. The main technologies of the digital urban planning system consist of the following: ①the application of GIS in spatial data updating instead of traditional surveying software technology, ②The integration of workflow technology and Internet GIS/Component GIS in urban planning information system, ③the application of time GIS in the digital urban planning system.
