TLDR
In this article, a method for calculating the viscous fictitious damping of the dynamic relaxation (DR) method was developed to overcome one of the most crucial difficulties in its application -the low convergence rate.About:

Spatial resolution of wrinkle patterns in thin elastic sheets at finite strain
TL;DR: In this paper, a nonlinear plate theory is used to simulate the wrinkling patterns observed in stretched thin elastic sheets, and numerical solutions to several equilibrium boundary value problems are obtained by the method of dynamic relaxation based on a dissipative dynamical system.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new formulation for fictitious mass of the Dynamic Relaxation method with kinetic damping
TL;DR: In this article, the stability and convergence rate of the kinetic damping process in Dynamic Relaxation (DR) method is analyzed using the Gerschgorin circles theory, and the proposed scheme is used for static and dynamic analyses of structures.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comparative analysis of numerical approaches to the mechanics of elastic sheets
TL;DR: Several numerical approaches previously proposed to model equilibrium deformations in thin elastic sheets are compared and results indicate that static finite element approaches produce local minima that are highly sensitive to initial imperfections, relying on a priori knowledge of the equilibrium wrinkling pattern to generate optimal results.

Time-dependent analysis of cable domes using a modified dynamic relaxation method and creep theory
Stanislav Kmet,Marek Mojdis +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a modified dynamic relaxation method for a time-dependent nonlinear static analysis of cable domes based on the application of creep theory is presented, where creep constitutive equations in logarithmic forms are directly used for adjusting cable lengths.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficiency of dynamic relaxation methods in nonlinear analysis of truss and frame structures
TL;DR: Twelve new and well known dynamic relaxation methods are considered and several benchmark frame and truss structures, with geometric nonlinear behavior, are solved by these schemes.

Convergence rates of iterative treatments of partial differential equations
TL;DR: Renwick and Wilkes as mentioned in this paper present a sequence of initial orders, known as program orders, permanently wired onto a set of uniselectors (rotary telephone switches), which can be transferred to the store by pressing a button.
