Histology of proximal tubal occlusion

TL;DR: From 1979 to 1985, 18 patients who were found to have proximal tubal obstruction by hysterosalpingography and laparoscopic chromopertubation underwent resection of the obstructed tubal segment and reimplantation or microanastomosis, and a variety of histologic abnormalities were noted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chlamydia trachomatis antibody testing is more accurate than hysterosalpingography in predicting tubal factor infertility

TL;DR: C. trachomatis antibody testing deserves to become an integral component of the initial fertility work-up because it is more likely than HSG to be abnormal in patients with tubal factor infertility.
Journal ArticleDOI

Salpingo-ovariolysis by laparoscopy in infertility

TL;DR: In this paper, periadnexal adhesions were severe in most cases and moderate in the remainder, and only those cases where ovum pickup by the oviduct with the lesser pathology was deemed impossible or greatly hampered were included in this series.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surgical management of tubal obstruction at the uterotubal junction

TL;DR: It is the opinion that microsurgical tubocornual anastomosis should be one's primary approach to correcting a UTJ obstruction, and any of the described uterotubal implantation operations can be utilized as a primary or secondary approach to surgical reconstruction of UTJ obstructions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of tubal patency by hysterocontrast sonography (HyCoSy, Echovist) and its correlation with laparoscopic findings.

TL;DR: Transvaginal HyCoSy is a suitable first‐line diagnostic procedure in patients with infertility disorders and corresponding results with regard to the tube patency between Hy coSy and conventional chromolaparoscopy in 82.5% of cases are found.

Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of prostaglandin e2 and e3 on the human uterus and the fallopian tubes in vitro.

TL;DR: It is evident that PGE1 exerts a stimulatory action on the proximal part of the tube and an inhibitory effect on the rest of the oviduct and the uterus, which are likely to promote fertilization of the ovum and an hypothesis for this is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tubal plastic surgery. A retrospective study of 50 cases.

TL;DR: Three term pregnancies occurred in patients who had no obstructive fimbrial disease which required salpingostomy, and one patient is currently in the third month of pregnancy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Further Experiences in Tuboplasty

TL;DR: In spite of a great deal of work in the field of plastic surgery of the fallopian tubes, the problem still remains largely unsolved and presents a challenge to the ingenuity of every gynaecologist.
Journal Article

Results of salpingostomy.

TL;DR: Experience with salpingostomy in the restoration of fertility appears to be largely dependent on the protection of the everted surface from adhesions and maintenance of the new ostum during healing.
