Lubrication of short porous journal bearings - use of the Brinkman-extended Darcy model
J.R. Lin,C.C. Hwang +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply the Brinkman-extended Darcy model within the porous medium to analyze the hydrodynamic lubrication of short porous journal bearings and show that the effects of viscous shear will increase the load capacity and decrease the coefficient of friction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrodynamic lubrication of long porous bearings
TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical solution for a long porous bearing, press-fitted into the housing and working with a full film of lubricant, is attempted, where the pressure distribution is determined by a simultaneous solution of Reynolds equation and the Laplace equation for the bearing material while maintaining the continuity of pressure at the film bearing interface.
Effect of velocity slip at a porous boundary on the performance of an incompressible porous bearing

Hydrodynamic lubrication of narrow porous metal bearings with sealed ends
C.A. Rhodes,W.T. Rouleau +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a study is made of the performance of narrow porous bearings which are modified by sealing the end pores to prevent the flow of lubricant, the purpose of this proposed modification is to increase the load capacity of the bearing while maintaining its self-lubricating feature.
