TLDR
In this paper, the authors present a review on the behaviour of fiber-reinforced concrete under normal as well as impact loads and also identify the materials that can be used for blending cement in concrete as cost-effective means of construction.Abstract:
Concrete is subjected to sudden impact loads in water-controlled structures like dams, tunnels; airport terminal asphalts; structures used for military and industrial purposes. When subjected to extreme load conditions and aggressive environments, plain concrete which is already brittle in nature fails suddenly. Fibre-reinforced concrete is a rapidly developing construction technique which can be used for almost all structural systems. Fibres enhance the ductility of concrete structure by improving their mechanical properties. This paper presents a review on the behaviour of fibre-reinforced concrete under normal as well as impact loads and also identifies the materials that can be used for blending cement in concrete as cost-effective means of construction is one of the challenging aspects in these industries.read more

Dynamic response and behavior of reinforced concrete slabs under impact loading

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of different types of slab reinforcements and the applied impact loads on the dynamic response and behavior of reinforced concrete slabs were investigated, and the effect of their details on their behavior under impact loads were not always appreciated or properly taken into account.

Flexural response of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete beams: Effects of strength, fiber content, and strain-rate
TL;DR: In this paper, the flexural behavior of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) beams under quasi-static and impact loads was investigated, and the impact tests were performed using a drop-weight impact test machine for two different incident potential energies of 40 and 100 J.

High speed train noise emission: Latest investigation of the aerodynamic/rolling noise contribution
TL;DR: In this article, the quantification of aero-acoustic and rolling noise sources emitted by high-speed trains externally is discussed, based on the comparison of experimental data obtained in the DEUFRAKO Annex K and K2 projects and those produced more recently.
