Biogas production from co-digestion of dairy manure and food waste

TL;DR: Adding the food waste into a manure digester at levels up to 60% of the initial volatile solids significantly increased the methane yield for 20days of digestion, showing that a hydraulic retention time of 20days could be recommended for a continuous digester.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gene cluster of Pseudomonas syringae pv. "phaseolicola" controls pathogenicity of bean plants and hypersensitivity of nonhost plants.

TL;DR: Structural analysis of pPL6 and the wild-type genome indicated that the 17- and 5-kilobase EcoRI fragments were contiguous in the strain NPS3121 genome, suggesting that genes affected by the insertions were clustered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of feed to inoculum ratios on biogas yields of food and green wastes.

TL;DR: The results showed that the F/I significantly affected the biogas production rate, with lower yields from mesophilic digestion of food waste, green waste and their mixture were lower than the yields obtained at thermophilic temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phenotypic plasticity in polygonum persicaria. i. diversity and uniformity in genotypic norms of reaction to light.

TL;DR: The norms of reaction of 20 cloned genotypes from two natural populations of the annual plant Polygonum persicaria were determined over a broad range of controlled light environments, revealing both the extent of functionally adaptive phenotypic plasticity expressed by individual genotypes and the patterns of diversity among genotypes for characters relevant to fitness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crop Rotations and Nitrogen Fertilization to Manage Soil Organic Carbon Dynamics

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between arable layer organic C (SOC) and crop rotations in a complex of Typic Argiudoll and Petrocalcic Paleudoll soils.
