TLDR
In this paper, the voltage level of a video signal channel as the image of the scene to be televised is scanned is scanned, comparing the sensed signal with a reference signal and establishing a digital signal indicative of whether the voltage of sensed signal is greater or less than that of the reference signal.Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for automatically establishing the voltage levels in a television camera which represent signal amplitude levels corresponding to the black and white reference levels by sensing the voltage level of a video signal channel as the image of the scene to be televised is scanned, comparing the sensed signal with a reference signal and establishing a digital signal indicative of whether the voltage of the sensed signal is greater or less than that of the reference, storing the digital information and, if desired, altering the information stored upon command from the comparator, establishing an output voltage signal having a magnitude determined by the stored or altered digital information and modifying the black and white levels from the camera.read more

Automatic white adjusting circuit for a television camera
TL;DR: In this paper, an automatic white adjusting circuit for a television camera is presented, in which a rough adjustment is first performed with an adjustment quantity of large steps, and a fine adjustment is then performed with a small adjustment, upon automatic adjustment of the white by directing the television camera towards a white surface.

Memory type automatic adjustment system
Eiji Tamura,Takashi Nakamura +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a memory-type control system for producing and storing a control signal which is used in an automatic adjustment system is presented, where a signal, having a parameter to be controlled, is provided; and a detecting circuit detects when the parameter is within a predetermined range.

Video signal clamping circuit operating in the digital domain for removing excess noise on the black level and for providing d c restoration
TL;DR: In this paper, a video signal clamping circuit is proposed, where a FIFO register stores a sequence of digital samples of an input video signal taken during a portion of a horizontal blanking interval of the signal during which the signal is at a black level.

Low frequency restorer
TL;DR: The low frequency restorer as discussed by the authors restores the missing low frequency and low frequency contents to a digital signal which has been submitted to magnetic recording, playback and equalization processes by clamping and subsequently hard limiting the equalized signal.

Machine vision system with illumination variation compensation
Wesley Davis,Michael L. Gasperi +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a circuit is provided to measure the luminance of the video signal for a portion of the image and use that luminance to set a threshold level, which is employed in processing the image.

Dc restoration and white clipping circuit for video recorder
TL;DR: In this paper, a transistorized direct-coupled amplifier is described, which receives a composite video color signal, amplifies the signal and at the same time establishes a fixed DC level for the sync tips and slices the ''''white'' peaks of the video signal at a predetermined level.

Blanking and black level control circuit for video signals
TL;DR: In this paper, a blanking and black level insertion circuit for video signals is described, where the video signal is applied to the video output by way of the amplifier, with the shunt capacitor still connected to the circuit and the black level control current still being inserted at the amplifier output.
