TLDR
In this article, a bi-directional drive motor of the type having a force coil suspended in a magnetic field of a magnetic core assembly is provided, which is made larger than the center pole piece which it surrounds so that the force coil is movable transverse to the length of the centerpole piece as well as along its length to provide both X and Y directional movement.Abstract:
A bi-directional drive motor of the type having a force coil suspended in a magnetic field of a magnetic core assembly is provided. The force coil is made larger than the center pole piece which it surrounds so that the force coil is movable transverse to the length of the center pole piece as well as along its length to provide both X and Y directional movement. When two force coils are connected together on orthogonal axes and mounted in a common magnetic core assembly, X and Y directional movement is provided in a single drive motor system. When two drive motor systems are coupled to the same side of a top stage of a load platform, rotational or theta positioning is provided in addition to X and Y positional movement.read more

Guideless stage with isolated reaction stage
TL;DR: In this article, a reaction frame is mounted on a base structure independent of the base for the object stage to isolate both external vibrations as well as vibrations caused by reaction forces from an object stage, and the linear positioning forces of the actuator drive means are mounted and controlled so that the vector sum of the moments of force at the center of gravity due to the positioning forces at the drive means is substantially equal to zero.

Window frame-guided stage mechanism
TL;DR: In this article, a stage is driven inside a window frame guide in the Y-axis direction by motor coils located on the stage co-operating with magnetic tracks on the guide.

High-speed precision positioning apparatus
TL;DR: In this article, a high-speed precision positioning apparatus has a stage supported by a platen, driven by a plurality of drive motors that are co-planar with the stage and arranged symmetrically around the stage.

Rotary-linear actuator
TL;DR: In this paper, an actuator with two independent degrees of freedom is mounted on a hollow cylindrical plunger fitting in an annular well, and a bearing allows the plunger to move axially and rotationally, in the preferred embodiment the bearing is an air bearing.

Electro-magnetic alignment apparatus
David Trost,Daniel N. Galburt +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an electromagnetic alignment apparatus for aligning the wafers in a microlithography system is described. But this apparatus is adapted to electromagnetic alignment, which is particularly adapted, among many other possible uses, for use in alignment of the wafer in the micro-lithograph.

Mold for vertical type centrifugal casting
TL;DR: In this paper, a case 3 is fixed to the rotary table 2 of a vertical centrifugal device and molten metal 17 is poured, during this pouring, the outside flask 7 and the mold 8 are held in the predetermined positions by the molding board 4 and the cover 5, thus no center deviations occur.
