Bronchogenic cysts in retroperitoneal region
TLDR
Two patients who had an incidentally discovered retroperitoneal mass which were revealed to be bronchogenic cysts after surgical extirpation are presented.Abstract:
Bronchogenic cyst is a relatively rare abnormality that develop from the accessory lung buds of the foregut. The cyst is regarded as a congenital developmental abnormality. Occurence in the retroperitoneal presentation is rare. Here, we present two patients who had an incidentally discovered retroperitoneal mass which were revealed to be bronchogenic cysts after surgical extirpation.read more

A retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst mimicking a pancreatic or adrenal mass.
TL;DR: Although very rare, bronchogenic cysts should be considered in the differential diagnosis of retroperitoneal cystic lesions and surgical resection pursued for symptom resolution and to establish a definitive histology.

Retroperitoneal Bronchogenic Cyst Presenting Paraadrenal Tumor Incidentally Detected by 18F-FDG PET/CT
TL;DR: The preoperative diagnosis is difficult, but a contrast-enhanced CT scan or 18F-FDG PET/CT scan may be useful for differentiating hyperattenuated cysts from other soft tissue masses.

A retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst with malignant change.
TL;DR: The first reported case of adenocarcinoma arising in a retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst is presented, and a mucin staining study with O‐acylated sialic acid was negative for the mucin‐producing epithelial cells of the cyst.

Bronchogenic cyst in the abdomen
TL;DR: A bronchogenic cyst was found in the abdomen, in the retroperitoneum adjacent to the superior pancreatic body, which is aberrant and explicable if abnormal buds of the tracheobronchial tree are pinched off and migrate into the abdomen before the canal linking the abdominal with the thoracic cavity is closed by fusion of the future components of the diaphragm.

Gonadal teratomas: a review and speculation.
TL;DR: It is the author’s opinion that much of the confusion regarding gonadal teratomas can be clarified by the concept that the usual ovarian teratoma derives from a benign germ cell in a parthenogenetic-like fashion, whereas the typical postpubertal testicular example derived from a malignant germ cell, mostly after evolution of that originally malignant cell to an invasive germ cell tumor.
