In this article, the authors address one of the problems in the Basin-porosity in many of the producing formations comes and goes rapidly, and present a model for stratigraphic traps.Abstract:
The Williston Basin contains incredible hydrocarbon-producing formations, but with its subtle structures, identifying potential reservoirs is problematic. This publication addresses one of the problems in the Basin–porosity in many of the producing formations comes and goes rapidly. Chapters addressing this include basic information on stratigraphic traps, both in general and in the Williston in specific; interpretation of carbonate lighology from logs, basic omposition of carbonate rocks; types of porosity in carbonates; major nearsurface diagenetic environments; subsurface diagenesis; dolomite and dolomitazation; and major models for stratigraphic traps.read more

Engineering aspects of limestone weathering in Istanbul, Turkey

TL;DR: In this article, a model for the weathering of limestones is established and modifications proposed to the material and mass weathering schemes for characterisation of the limestone for engineering uses, as both foundation and construction material.

Depositional environments and porosity distribution in regressive limestone reservoirs of the Mishrif Formation, Southern Iraq
TL;DR: In this paper, the Mishrif Limestone has been studied and eight subsurface sections and a large number of thin sections were studied to unravel the depositional facies and environments.

Origin and Geometry of Red River Dolomite Reservoirs, Western Williston Basin
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the entire Ordovician Red River Formation of the central Williston basin was deposited in subtidal "brining-upward" sequences.

Sedimentation on a ramp type lake margin: Paleocene–Eocene Maı́z Gordo Formation, northwestern Argentina
TL;DR: The Maiz Gordo Formation as mentioned in this paper was formed by sedimentation of mixed carbonate-clastic sedimentation in a sag basin during late Paleocene to early Eocene time, and the climate varied from arid conditions at the base of the sequence to more humid conditions toward the top.
