Vibrational relaxation processes in isotropic molecular liquids. A critical comparison

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a review of vibrational relaxation in isotropic molecular liquids and compare the vibrational motions that have similar normal coordinate descriptions with those that do not have similar coordinate descriptions.

Raman Study of Vibrational and Rotational Relaxation of Liquid Benzene-d6 Confined to Nanoporous Silica Glasses

TL;DR: In this article, the Ramaman spectra of totally symmetric ν1, ν2 bands and three doubly degenerate ν15 and ν16 bands of liquid benzene-d6 confined to porous silica glasses with pore sizes ranging from 14 to 40 A (average pore radius) were measured at 295 K and atmospheric pressure.

Calibrating chemical abrasion: Its effects on zircon crystal structure, chemical composition and U-Pb age

TL;DR: In this article, an experimental approach is presented to quantify how chemical abrasion affects the crystal structure and the chemical composition of zircon as well as its U Pb age.

Molecular reorientation in acetonitrile. A comparison of diffusion coefficients from Raman bandshapes and nuclear magnetic resonance relaxation times

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the Raman bandshapes of the CH3(CD3) and CN stretching vibrations as a function of temperature in the liquid phase and determined parallel diffusion coefficients for the two isotopic species at all temperatures.

Molecular dynamics and structure of liquid acetonitrile - a review and computer simulation.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a 6 × 6 site-site model for the pair potential with electrodynamics approximated by point charges and showed that the NMR relaxation data are fairly consistent with the results of the simulation, whereas the data from infra-red and dielectric spectroscopy are not.

TL;DR: In this article, the Fourier transformation of infrared and Raman band shapes reveals the meaning of the spectrum in terms of molecular rotation much more clearly than does the usual frequency shape.

Raman Scattering: Orientational Motions in Liquids

TL;DR: In this paper, a systematic study of reorientational motions by Raman scattering is undertaken for 10 liquids and the theory of orientational broadening of Raman lines is presented with emphasis on the use of symmetry of molecular vibrations to obtain information of reoriented motions about different axes.

Dephasing processes of molecular vibrations in liquids

TL;DR: In this article, a model based on semiclassical collision theory is presented to describe the dephasing of vibrationally excited molecules in a liquid, and it is shown that fluctuations of the vibrational frequencies which are caused by the intermolecular interaction, lead to phase relaxation of a coherently excited state.

Magnetic Resonance Studies of Anisotropic Molecular Rotation in Liquid Acetonitrile‐d3

TL;DR: In this article, the rotational diffusion tensor remains anisotropic over a wide range of temperatures, and the magnetic relaxation times T1 for 14N and 2D in liquid CD3CN have been measured as functions of temperature and concentration of added ionic salts.
