RGB-D Mapping: Using Depth Cameras for Dense 3D Modeling of Indoor Environments
TL;DR: This paper presents RGB-D Mapping, a full 3D mapping system that utilizes a novel joint optimization algorithm combining visual features and shape-based alignment to achieve globally consistent maps.
Journal ArticleDOI
Termination of logic programs: the never-ending story
Danny De Schreye,Stefaan Decorte +1 more
TL;DR: The structure of the termination proofs, the selection of well-founded orderings, norms and level mappings, the inference of interargument relations, and special treatments proposed for dealing with mutual recursion are outlined.
Book ChapterDOI
Towards Reliable Grasping and Manipulation in Household Environments
TL;DR: This work combines aspects such as scene interpretation from 3D range data, grasp planning, motion planning, and grasp failure identification and recovery using tactile sensors, aiming to address the uncertainty due to sensor and execution errors.
Book ChapterDOI
Unsupervised Calibration for Multi-beam Lasers
Jesse Levinson,Sebastian Thrun +1 more
TL;DR: A new generation of LIDAR sensors equipped with many simultaneous rotating beams at varying angles is spawned, providing at least an order of magnitude more data than single-beam LIDars and enabling new applications in mapping, object detection and recognition, scene understanding, and SLAM.
Book ChapterDOI
Calibrating a Multi-arm Multi-sensor Robot: A Bundle Adjustment Approach
TL;DR: An extendable framework that combines measurements from the robot's various sensors (proprioceptive and external) to calibrate the robot’s joint offsets and external sensor locations is proposed, allowing sensors with very different error characteristics to be used side by side in the calibration.
