H2o solubility in haplogranitic melts: compositional, pressure, and temperature dependence

TL;DR: The compositional dependence of H20 solubility was mainly determined at 0.5-8 kbar and 800-1350 0c as mentioned in this paper, where the H20 contents of the glasses were determined by Karl-Fischer titration.

Geochemical Evolution within the Tonga–Kermadec–Lau Arc–Back-arc Systems: the Role of Varying Mantle Wedge Composition in Space and Time

TL;DR: In this article, trace element and isotope data for the active Tonga-Kermadec arc in the southwest Pacific, the volcano of Niua fo'ou in the back-arc Lau Basin, and Pacific Ocean sediments from DSDP Sites 204 and 275, and ODP Site 596, are integrated with existing geochemical data for lavas from the Lau basin, Samoa, the Louisville Ridge Seamount Chain (LR-SMC) and the extinct Lau Ridge arc, giving new insights into the petrogenesis of lavas in an active arc - back-

Applications of Micro-Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) in the Geological Sciences—A Review

TL;DR: These investigations demonstrate that the employment of high-resolution micro-FTIR imaging enables visualization and mapping of the distributions of organic matter and minerals on a micrometer scale in geological samples, and promotes an advanced understanding of heterogeneity of organic rich coal and shale.

Water solubility in aluminosilicate melts of haplogranite composition at 2 kbar

TL;DR: The compositional dependence of H2O solubility was investigated at 2 kbar and 800°C in haplogranite melts (system SiO21bNaAlSi3O81bKAlSi 3O8 or Qz1bAb1bOr) as discussed by the authors.

Halogens and hydroxyl contents of micas and amphiboles in Swedish granitic rocks

TL;DR: In this article, a modified Penfield analysis was performed on 34 Swedish granitic rocks and in six pegmatites to determine the hydrogen, fluorine and hydroxyl contents of micas and some coexisting amphiboles.
